[The creature's form shifts fluidly, shrinking down into Gemini's human form, black haired and looking distinctly irritated.]

How very boring of you.

[She observes, sidestepping Natasha and walking right past her, seemingly unworried by that rifle pointed at her.]
exothermia: (Without a dream you're lost)

[She's wonderfully secure in herself - it's what he likes to see, in those gifted with power. A bit up close for comfort, given how easily she hid in plain sight, but still worthy of appreciation.]

Yes. Both in this place and at home. Even something similar to yours.

Similar perhaps. [But not as good, her tone says, and there's a definite hint of arrogance in her smile.]

You have gifts yourself? [It's a guess, but not entirely uneducated going by the way the stranger carries himself.]

She was taking all types. Ferns, flowers. I haven't seen much in the way of fruit.

[A pause.] Charles and I may take some for our own ship.

Narrowing things down from a planetary scale does tend to help, somewhat.

[ Sorry, Stefan. Her imagination is ridiculous, and she's already dreaming up a doofy looking deer with jagged teeth, crossed eyes, and green foam at its mouth. She grins along with him, though, nodding, because she knows he's right. So long as she stays with him, she's completely safe. ]

Thanks! I'm glad to know that a ginormous herbivore isn't going to come and tear us to shreds!

[ That sword kind of looks amazing, really. Someday she'll have to ask if she can borrow it to do some magic with... ]

Good idea! I think so long as there aren't giant flying cockroaches, we'll be alright!

[ Or giant spiders, but spiders are still better than cockroaches ok. ]
brainiest: (thanks bro)

[personal profile] brainiest 2016-10-24 04:32 pm (UTC)(link)
It's practical, I suppose. I need to gather some for my herb garden, to make sure I have enough for my potions, so...

[ She glances over and nods her head. ]

What ones do you want for the Heron, then?

Nah. Our clothes are infused with our power, so they're invisible to people who can't see us - just like our weapons.

Way better.

[ Not holding any punches today - and why would he? It's not as if he's ever suggested that he likes the ships. ]

... Nah. Dezel and I haven't talked for a little while. I've been kinda busy. [ Hiding. ]

Nor do I. [ trust it. ] It looks so wild out there -- like it might be waiting to swallow us up, alive.

How rare it is, dear Ahsoka, to meet a person whose word is truly golden.
steeledskin: (# you did not break me)

[ she smiles -- only briefly, and it's something of a ghostly thing. like a memory more than all else. ]

I feel the same, ser. [ her heels knock against the mesa's edge while she sits. ] Had I been told some years ago that I might never feel so safe as I do hurtling through the stars, I would have laughed at such lunacy. And yet we are. A funny little family.
tallasaking: (I ... did not expect that)

From all the way to the north of the Wall, to across the sea to the Free Cities. I never went to the south of Westeros, though. [He sighed, as he moved up the trail.] Perhaps I shall, one day.

[He's never been allowed to run around like this before, it's a strange new thing but he liked it.

He stopped suddenly when a bit of sunlight peeped through the trees. For someone who had lived in the midst of storms and rain this little bit of sunlight was incredible. It was the most sun he had seen all his life.

And if Barriss from Arkanis, then he knew she would appreciate it.]

Look! [He pointed excitedly, smiling.] It's sunny!

I don't suppose it has any practical use aside from just intangible...magic. You couldn't store that energy in a power cell?

[A power source would be nice to have though, just in case.]
wolfehawke: (What's this now?)

[personal profile] wolfehawke 2016-10-24 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's surprising to see how magic from another world works, to feel how the mana coalesces into a spell and interacts with his focus. Or... seem not to touch the staff at all but instead wind its way around it like a snake around a branch. He's never seen magic act quite like that. He's sure he could make it, though maybe not with fire as he's not as practiced with that, but the mana itself is easily enough manipulated into a helix, but it would take a different kind of coordination and mental acuity than Nightingale is showing here, and mostly he's surprised the fire doesn't blast from the dragon's mouth at the head of the staff instead of curling and popping around the shaft of wood in her hands.]

Is that normal for your magic?
wolfehawke: (Small smile)

[personal profile] wolfehawke 2016-10-24 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh Hermione, if he knew you knew Cullen...]

I'm not sure I need a focus, or incantation once I've got how the spell feels, but we can start that way until I've got the hang of it.

[The staff is so large compared to her wand that he has to stand to draw it from his back and remain so to cast; sitting down and waving a long stick around is just going to end with someone's eye out.]
wolfehawke: (look aside)

[personal profile] wolfehawke 2016-10-24 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, huh. To go very far that must take a lot of work to lay down track, then. I've seen little toys like that, or traps with blades on tracks, but nothing big enough to carry people.
dancingmd: (pursed lips)

[personal profile] dancingmd 2016-10-24 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Possibly. Either way we need to be careful, especially since I am not exactly magically inclined.
wolfehawke: (wuzzah)

[personal profile] wolfehawke 2016-10-24 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
A city made of ice? That sounds fascinating. Wouldn't it melt? Is it held together with mag- er, bending?

[Inquiring minds want to know.]
stefanged: (real talk buddy)

[personal profile] stefanged 2016-10-24 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
So? I'm not promising you an exact version from home. There's no way I can do that.

[Stefan stifles a laugh as he finishes his task, moving onto another squash.]

Considering that a) I know how to cook and b) you've got the recipe and probably the ingredients, it's not really trouble.
stefanged: (hold on buddy)

[personal profile] stefanged 2016-10-24 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
That's good, right? In terms of making all your work easier?

[It's a genuine question. Honestly, it's a mixed bag for Stefan, considering how much energy's packed into the local fauna.]
wolfehawke: (Small smile)

[personal profile] wolfehawke 2016-10-24 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
No, he didn't, but Anders didn't recognize them either so I doubt they were your companions.

[He gives a reassuring smile. True, some wardens had died, but at the least they very likely weren't her wardens.]
apurrstate: (Smirk)

[personal profile] apurrstate 2016-10-24 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[Anders smiles to him and changes his stride to more easily match Hawke's.]

True!

What shall we discuss, then? Creation, Entropy, Spirit?
stefanged: (kinda judging)

[personal profile] stefanged 2016-10-24 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[Giant. Cockroaches. Stefan thinks he's heard and seen everything but no, Trucy has to remind him that there are still unholy terrors that should never, ever come forth from their imaginations.]

Ugh, I sure hope not. Those things could probably survive an Apocalypse.

[Moving right along!!]

Keep an eye out for fruit, though. If we see anything edible, we can take it back to the ship.
