[Ahsoka lets out a low whistle from where she's standing, leaning on a nearby wall-- she'd been coming to find Barriss when she saw the fight break out. She'd been about to intervene, but Barriss seemed to have it well in hand, so she decided to stay out of it. She knows first-hand just how very capable Barriss is in the field.]

They got off easy.

[ontrial]

[ so involved in the moment, barriss hadn't actually noticed that ahsoka was so close and as she turns to her friend, the cold, intimidating presence she's been projecting slips away into something much more barriss-y, almost sheepish. ]

I'm pretty sure that I broke a rib on the one I kicked. But I think I made my point, at least.

[resnipstance]

[Ahsoka winces. She remembers what it's like to be kicked in the ribs by Barriss all too well.]

Ouch. I don't doubt that.

At least he's not likely to do it again.

[ontrial]

I certainly hope not. [ she glances the way the men went, then brushes off the front of her skirt (not that it was necessarily dirty to begin with) as she steps closer to ahsoka, offering a small smile. ]

Anyway, how is your day going?

[resnipstance]

[Ahsoka follows Barriss's glance.] I was just coming to find you, actually.

[Then she turns her head back to smile at Barriss, and her smile turns a little bit lopsided as their eyes meet-- something's amusing.]

Ah. Your hood-- [Ahsoka reaches a hand up to her own forehead as if to mirror the spot where Barriss's cowl has fallen out of alignment in her scuffle. Then, as if seeming to realise it might not be easy to fix without a mirror, she reaches a hand out towards Barriss instead.] May I?

[ontrial]

Of course. [ she dips her head slightly (again, not necessary, since ahsoka is just a tiny bit above eye level now) to offer her hood for adjusting. ] And, ah, here I am.

[resnipstance]

[She fusses with it a bit, before managing to secure it properly in place. If she maybe takes a little bit longer than necessary, well... she isn't doing it consciously.] ... There. Good as new.

[She nods, admiring her handiwork.]

I wanted to pick your brain about this new planet.

[ontrial]

[ it's not uncommon at all for barriss to flush some when someone is too close to her for too long without their being a valid reason for it and while helping her be presentable is a good reason for ahsoka and her hands being so close, that blush on barriss's tattooed cheeks wasn't there a minute ago. ]

It's strong in... something, isn't it?

[resnipstance]

Exactly. I can't tell if it's good or if it's bad, but you know there's only one way to find out, right?

[Ahsoka leans into Barriss's space, a familiar conspiratorial look in her eyes.]

You should come with me.

[ontrial]

It's not as if I could let you go alone.

[ it's so very matter of fact. ]

[resnipstance]

Good. Then it's settled.

[ontrial]

[ she doesn't bother stopping herself from rolling her eyes. ]

Are we going now, then?

[resnipstance]

Why not?

The other day, I saw a mammal down there bigger than both of us combined. I bet it'd be fun to ride!

[ontrial]

Ahsoka, no, I... Well, alright. At least we'll be together.

[ for safety. obviously. barriss is already mentally preparing to get apprehensive about ahsoka doing unnecessarily risky things. ]

[resnipstance]

Come on! There's only so much sitting around and being responsible I can do.

[And with that she takes off towards the shuttles.]

[ontrial]

[ now that she's committed to this, barriss knows full well that there's no stopping ahsoka. so she's not even going to try, hurrying to keep up with her friend's excitement as they make their way planetside. it still doesn't feel quite right to barriss, but it does perk her up a little- and make her all the more grateful for ahsoka having invited her. ]

[resnipstance]

[For all her hurry and eagerness, Ahsoka's still a professional pilot, and they make the transition down to the planet smoothly and without incident. She steps out of the shuttle and offers a hand up to Barriss.]

Nervous?

[ontrial]

[ she takes the hand, even though she doesn't need it to get herself down on the ground, and... honestly holds it longer than she needs to. but casually, so it looks as if she's simply forgotten to let go. ]

What good would being nervous be? Of course I'm not.
