[Naturally, it doesn't take much for Sorey to convince Lailah. She settles her essence into his soul, and can't help giggling a little at the feelings she senses from him. Whatever it is, the fire seraph is glad that it's bringing him back to normal, even if it's only for a short time.

When her Shepherd stops, Lailah materializes outside of his body to make sure he's not about to collapse. She doesn't immediately see the pillbugs until Sorey tells her to look.

The way the seraph claps her hands together and the expression on her face is like that of a child who's been gifted with a puppy or kitten.]

Oh, my goodness! They're huge!

[Ahhhh!!! Lailah waits as one of them curls up, not wanting to get close enough to scare the little darlings.]

That's a nice curl it's got going on. You can tell this one is a professional who loves its craft!

[Lailah, what.]

[Lmsdfljsf Lailah god, you're so weird. Sorey grins and watches her fangirl over these giant bug things before just walking right over to them.] Look, it's okay! They're not afraid of people, I think they just think we're animals.

[He even leans down to pick one up and it immediately curls up tight, to about the size of a softball.] Whoa buddy, that's good. Lailah, check it out! You can't even see any of his legs or anything!

Given how big they are, that's probably not too far off the mark.

[She gets closer to the one Sorey's holding and pats its carapace.]

It is a nice curl, but I know it can do better. I think it's having an off-day today, considering how good that form is.

[Despite her critique, it's clear that Lailah's enjoying herself. She kneels down next to a couple of the smaller ones that curl themselves up.]

Aw, look, Sorey! These ones are just adolescents, and they already have potential to be amazing curlers!

[The roly poly Sorey puts down scuttles away to burrow into the nearby compost heap that acts as their nest and Sorey jogs over to see where she's hovering over a few smaller balls only about the size of a baseball.] You have a seriously experienced eye for this, huh? How long have you been into this curling stuff?

[...That's a good question.]

Hmm, a very long time, now. I couldn't tell you exactly, but I suppose a few centuries?

[Lailah stands up and brushes off her dress. When she faces Sorey, her smile can rival the sun.]

Thank you so much for showing me them, Sorey. That was very sweet of you.

After all the times you indulged me, going into some random ruins that didn't have anything to do with the Shepherd's journey? Lailah. [Like he's not going to take advantage of this and try to show her something she likes.

The pillbugs don't seem particularly bothered by their presence, even shuffling over to investigate the trailing tails of Lailah's skirt.] I was going to bring one to you, but it seemed a little mean to just snatch one up like that. They seem pretty happy here.

[She giggles at that.]

But you and Mikleo always get so enthusiastic about it! I didn't want to dampen that.

[Lailah carefully moves so that the tails are away from the pillbugs. She's been around enough wildlife to know that they'll try to eat anything that might even remotely be edible. Then, she bends down to pat its carapace affectionately.

Also, ugh, Sorey is such a sweetheart.]

I'm sure they appreciate that, too. It would've been quite alarming for someone to just pick it up and carry it somewhere else.

Oh, but look! [He stoops and scoops up one of the pillbugs; it automatically curls but he holds it carefully in both hands.] They get all defensive at first, but they warm up really quick. [He waits patiently until the pillbug starts to uncurl, resting shell down in his hands and sticking out its legs and feelers until it flips and finds his sleeve to start crawling up to his shoulder.] It's ticklish though. Ffff, Lailah help, it's gonna go down my collar-!

[Lailah has to stop herself from giggling as she gently picks up the pillbug before it tries to get too curious about what's under Sorey's shirt. It curls up, of course, but she places it back on the ground with its family. It is not going down her dress, okay.]

Probably because you're being very gentle to them. They feel safe enough to get curious about you.

[She bites her lip a little as a thought occurs to her.]

They're a bit like Mikleo in that regard.

Oooh, don't let him hear you say that. [Because Sorey sometimes doesn't learn from his mistakes, he crouches down to start poking at the curious little bugs crawling over his boots.] I think with Mikleo it's more like he has no problem pushing me around. [Sorey laughs.] Also like these little guys! Get out of my pant leg, you. [nudges lil buggy out]
