Not yet. I will not drag them into this if I can help it. [They both deserved some peace, he wanted the same for Findekano but his grandson had insisted on coming. Finwe had never been able to refuse his precious grandson anything.]

We may have to go deeper into the forest. It could be dangerous but I don't sense the shadow.

[Not that he trusted himself anymore, not after Morgoth.]

{Fingon nods, accepting the decision. He's just glad his grandfather let him come when he insisted. He won't leave him alone in the face of unknown again.}

I don't mind. Let's go, we should see what we can find.

{He reaches to touch Finwë's shoulder with a reassuring smile.} I sense no shadow either, but nor do I know what it is I feel here.

{Finwë might not trust himself anymore, but Fingon does.}

Findekano, I want you to return to Maitimo and Kano if something happens. [His voice was serious, he wasn't sure what they would encounter in the forest. The trees were unfamiliar to him, he couldn't speak to them as he normally could.

He wanted to make sure that no matter his grandsons would be safe. He wasn't going to stop Findekano from coming with him though.]

{A frown. Fingon knows what his grandfather's doing, and why. It only makes the love for Finwë stronger, and the need to protect him.}

If something happens and I can save you, I will. I won't give up on you, so don't you give up either.

Findekano....[But he knows Fingon got Nolofinwe's stubborn will so all he could do was smile softly. There would be no sense arguing with him.]

I remember when you were small you were worried that you wouldn't be able to keep up with your cousins and siblings. That you weren't as strong as them. You had nothing to fear though, even as an Elfling. I never doubted your strength, Finno.

{It's one thing Fingon's grateful for. He flushes in pleased surprise, ducking his head.}

Send a message to your cousins so they know where we're going. We don't want them to worry too much.

[Finwe didn't want them to get lost in the forest looking for them at least.]

{Fingon nods and quickly does so. Finwë is once more his King, and barring most things, he will obey without question.}

We should let them know when we head back, as well.

A good idea, Findekano. [Finwe looked into the forest, taking a deep breath as Fingon sent the message off. He would do whatever he had to protect his grandson but he wanted to see what they would find in that darkness.]

{Fingon won't let anything happen to his grandfather either. Never again, if he has the power to prevent it. He smiles and reaches for Finwë's hand.}

Stay alert. [He smiled as he took Fingon's hand firmly. He knew Fingon wasn't scared for himself but Finwe would still let him know that he was there as they stepped into the forest.]
