Well, we had some that could trap you - and the more you wiggled the more it squeezed you. Then there were Mandrakes, and their scream could knock you out...

...plants, right? You're talking about plants. Normal, grow-in-the-ground plants.

... Yes? [ Hermione just smiles. ] I was trapped by Devil's Snare, once, and we had to plot Mandrakes in school.

You had to repot screaming plants at school? [Sorey's never been to school so he's not exactly an expert on what school is like, but dang that sounds like a badass school.] What happened with the Devil's Snare? That's a cool name, by the way. Appropriate, I'm guessing.

How else were we going to learn about them? [ Hermione hadn't minded the Mandrakes too much. ] Oh, I fell into it in my first year. I was the only one who remembered the rhyme. 'Devil's Snare, Devil's Snare, it likes the dark and damp.'
monolike: (okay but where the fuck is it)

Oh, a remembrance rhyme! I use those too. [Never been to school though.] Hermione, you know, I've never been to school before but yours sounds pretty hardcore. Do they make sure you know how to fight these dangerous plants because you're expected to do it later on?
brainiest: (smells like pure gasoline)

Um, no, not really? We were supposed to learn about them to expand our knowledge and gain a good education - we didn't necessarily have to fight them. I was just... A unique case.
