I can't really hear anything like you, so I hope you don't mind holding my hand a bit. I just feel this kind of pressure, but I thought that had to do with the atmosphere more than anything, possibly magnetism within the core.

It can. It depends on how strong a planet's magnetic field is, as well as the density and make-up of its atmosphere, among other things. Or if could be something with the trees. Perhaps they give off electric currents, or something else.
