Like I said, there was a long line of people who wanted to kill Joffrey, for a variety of reasons. I was just the scape-goat. I believe the marriage was arranged before the bride and the family learned of Joffrey's certain ... disabilities. They also wanted to make sure they were secured to the royal family after they supported a king-caninidate who was horribly murdered in magical circumstances.... I could go on, if you want to know the whole torrid affair.

Then Margaery lucked out, it seems. [No wonder she didn't speak on it much.] Morbid curiosity eggs me on. I imagine this is all tangled up in that War of the Five Kings you talked about some time ago? So, one king-candidate died in... odd circumstances involving probably terrible magic, one was mad, and... well, poor Robb. [She shakes her head sadly.]

I have no doubt they are. Perhaps it is simply a matter of perspective. I am sure I would find your politics maddening. [He paused, then snorted.] I am sure my family thinks they have won it - but Stannis Baratheon still stands, and Danerys Targaryan is right across the water.

Ah yes, Dany. [A princess robbed of her throne.] I spoke with her a bit about all that. What... do you think her chances honestly are?

... Better than most. She will, however, need someone who understands how the politics work in Westeros to be able to hold the throne. That is where I come in.

I imagine having three dragons helps with that. Getting the throne, I mean. [Hopefully they won't have to be used to hold it.] You two will have your hands full, coming off from such a war.

We will. [He sighs quietly.] Which is why I am not sure if this place is a reprieve or a curse. Perhaps it is a touch of both.

I think this place is what you want to make of it. An impediment, a reprieve... even a second chance for some.

I can hope it is one of the many. I fear that some do no deserve a second chance ... myself included. However I cannot deny that we are in a place where we must consider our lives, and how they must change.
