[And the night has arrived! Dorian put out an open invitation, and anyone who is interested is welcome to dress up and meet up for a night of dancing and fawning over each other. Make sure to wear your best, everyone! It's a very special episode of Drift Fleet!]

((OOC: There was an open invitiation, but even if your character never replied or has had personal contact with Dorian, feel free to assume he's let them come along or be dragged along by someone else! [Varric usually doesn't bother showing up to these sorts of things, but he's here anyway. Dorian had the loveliest invitation. And he likes Dorian. And besides that, he has some new threads to show off.

He's left his leather duster back home. He wears an open-front shirt in a shade of teal blue-green, embroidered with gold thread. It matches his usual gold necklace perfectly. Offsetting that is a sash around his waist of deep purple, leading down into dark pants and boots. Which have been polished, for once. Aside from his extraordinary charm and chest hair, he appears to be unarmed, but one can never be sure.

One might find him entertaining a group of ballgoers with a story, or maybe quietly watching from the sidelines with a drink. Despite Adsum banning alcohol, well... someone had to spike the punch.]

[ Ino is looking positively radiant tonight in the lovely orange and gold sari that Garak custom tailored for her, some choice gold and ruby jewelry picked out to match adorning her wrists, ears, chest, and so on ...

The fact that she actually looks happy and excited to be there doesn't hurt, and the pheromone glitch she's currently experiencing definitely doesn't hurt either.

The whole thing kind of reminds her of the times they'd shown up all dressed up for whatever occasion in the Paradisa ballroom. In fact, if she closes her eyes now, she can still see the damn thing in front of her, and she's not sure if she misses it or resents the fact that she can still remember it.

Either way, she'll be milling about mingling with people and looking for the people she knows to say hello ... !]

[Kaneis hadn't wanted to come to this thing. Galas reminded him far too much of his old life- and it doesn't help that he's been to so many that they've all but lost their thrill.]

[But, someone had twisted his arm to come- so there was no getting out of it. At least, he supposes, if he's lucky he might be able to land some good jobs from the natives. At least, if he gets around to actually interacting with them.]

[As for now, he's standing on near one of the walls, watching the crowds - standing with the sort of stiffness that one might mistake for not being used to this situation. He cleans up good at least, he's got a nice dark outfit that fits in with the fashions of Adsum and covers up that crystal on his chest. In his gloved hand, he's got a glass of punch that he's drinking out of it]

[Which believe him- He is ever so grateful that someone's spiked it already]

[Oh look who is standing by a pillar, being an unsocial jackass. Per usual. That's right. It's this guy. At least his outfit looks nice even if it's as black as his soul, and his short hair is is well groomed.]

[But thanks to the pheromones? He'll actually turn his head when she comes by. And even speak without needing speaking to first]

Ino. You look lovely tonight.

[ HEY BRO. She's making her way over, after picking up a drink. She hasn't ... actually had a sip yet, but -- ]

[ Blinks in surprise! But then there's a smile. She's happy to see him, even if it's unexpected.

Oh ... Wait a second -- She's gasping now that she notices the haircut ]

[ Is the last thing she would have expected him to do, but -- ]

It actually looks really good?

[ Coming closer to inspect this, now ] When did you cut it? [ Looking at the rest of his outfit now --] And why do you look like you're at a funeral?

Heh, thanks. [Unconsciously, he reaches up to tug at a lock. It's still weird that it's so short] Been...about a week now?

[He looks down at his clothes]

Oh...Flora's gone nuts, so I didn't feel up to asking for her help. [He makes a slight click of his tongue] Turns out a mercenary's salary is very limited when it comes to fancy clothes.

Jeez! That long! [ She sees that tugging motion, though -- ] Do you like it? It's much lighter, right?

Well, Garak is making stuff for not too expensive. [ She gestures to her outfit ] He custom made this for me!

[wilder]

I'm...still getting used to it, but yeah- I think so. [It's weird adjusting] I keep moving my head too hard though. [too used to all the weight man]

Did he now? [He looks at it and nods] And it looks lovely indeed. Maybe I'll look him up sometime.

Me too, me too! So like, I cut all of my hair off with a knife once, almost as short as yours -- I was totally doing that for weeks afterwards!

[ BEAMS. compliments from big bro ;A; ]

I wasn't sure about the color with my complexion, but it's not bad after all!

Really? With just a knife? You didn't need to have someone fix it up afterwards? [SINCE HE SURE DID]

Heh- I can't imagine any color not working with you, Ino. [Wait, what? Where did that come from?]

Well, of course I had to have it fixed up. At the time it was kind of a dire situation though.

[SETTING THAT GLASS DOWN NOW, before he coughs and tries to carry the conversation on]

Oh, I see. What kind of dire situation was it?

[ She knows Zelos is kind of a flirt, but ...

Well. She's content to just forget that ever happened LMAO ]

Yeah, sort of. [ She reaches up to pluck a hair out, and then holds the end up to him. Is that ... a faint blue glow, for a second there? ]

[He hesitates, before pulling off a glove and reaching over to touch]

[It's been a while since she saw him but she stops, peering at him for a moment.]

--Oh no you still look attractive! [This is actually despairing.] But nowhere near Ludger-- Well. Okay he's more cute than whatever the hell word you use for attractive. Was it sexy? Yeah sexy. Well anyway you're not sexy either so don't go thinking I said that.

[She does actually look pretty nice but that's not the point. The point is he needs to not be smooth because it irritates her.]

W-Well of course I do. [Ignore the blush it's not there.] Anyway, I totally didn't say that. Ludger's face is just really boyish. You look more mature now. And I'm not comparing you because we're dating or anything like that! He's just sort of... there to be compared to.

[A+ Girlfriend. At least she knows she's not helping her case and hangs her head.]

Ugh, I hate stuff like this. It makes my nerves jump.

Don't fret about it. These things are just mostly about dancing and light conversation- though the punch's been spiked if you need something to calm your nerves a little.

So get this, we held hands but he didn't finish the courtship ritual! He was just glad to see me. ...Which is still really nice of him but I was hoping it had a double meaning. Like, I don't know, 'you're not dead and will you date me?'. But noooo he's still a pushover and won't say anything...
