Still, there's wisdom to the hesitant suggestion. It's good to know that Crowley doesn't resent having to be his defender, but it's true that he might not always be able.
He released his grip with a sigh, and let his hand fall, resting lighting on the edge of his lover's knee as if afraid to break contact completely.]
I tried a sword back in Paradisa, but I'm afraid it never really...worked for me. [It relied far too much on strength and coordination that he mostly did not have to bear, and he became discouraged before long]. Perhaps a gun.
[Not that he's terribly enthusiastic about the alternative.]
I'll make some inquiries once we leave this planet behind.

He exhaled softly, bumping his shoulder against Felix's. ]
There you go. Do you have a security officer? Myabe they can give you some pointers.

[Crowley offers a lazy smirk. It counts as gossip and he'll take it. There's been so little of it lately. Besides, he knows little cheers Felix up more than talking about other people behind their backs.]
So, squeaky clean Steve Rogers can moon over someone. I didn't know it was even possible.

I gathered they may have once been an item, but frankly they keep depressingly quiet about the whole thing. I've barely had a chance to speak to him since he transferred to our ship, which should tell you more than enough, really.
[His lip twitches in mild amusement. It's only a slight distraction from his own issues, but it's welcome]
no subject
Sounds about right. How very romantic of him, moving across ships to be with her.
no subject
Romantic, hm? [He shifts again, this time with more purpose, his hand slipping a few fractions from knee to inner thigh as he leaned teasingly into the demon's personal space.] I didn't know you believed in such a thing.
no subject
I've been known to have my moments, I'll have you know.

[He's doing a frankly terrible job of holding back a grin, but it feels good, even if tension still lingers at his temples. It was so easy for him to fall into darkness, if he gave it too much of himself. He'd take anything he could to pull himself out of it's grasp]
no subject
Ssssometimes it's worth a little effort, Felix.
[HE'S worth a little effort. Of course, Crowley won't say that and go for the hissing thing instead, because of course he will. ]
no subject
He drops his head but doesn't close the gap any further, his mouth close to Crowley's ear but not quite touching, his hand frozen in the same spot.]
Oh, I absolutely agree...
no subject
You're going to make me say it, aren't you?
[Fine. Fine. He'll make an effort. A hand moves up, lightly grasping the fabric of Felix's shirt. Nothing much. A gentle touch if anything. ]
You're worth the effort.
no subject
[He lets out a soft laugh and pulls back]
Well...not bad for an amateur effort.
[His words are teasing, but his smile is bittersweet, and his touch his delicate as he brings a hand up to caress the side of the demon's neck.]
no subject
Oh gee. Not even a gold star. How disappointing.
no subject
Darling, you know I don't do gold stars...
[He leans in for a kiss at the same time he moves, barely breaking the steady contact of lips as he pulls one knee up to the bed, twisting around until he can slip his other leg on the other side of Crowley's hips]
I can do much better.
[One one hand he wins by getting Crowley to give him a moment of honesty, but on the other he loses. He'd been trying to make the demon make the first move, but in the end it's him that caves to desire first, ending up exactly where Crowley probably wanted him. No place he would rather be]
no subject
He chuckles, returning that kiss, his hands sliding down Felix's sides, following the line of his hips and finally resting on his rear, pulling him in closer. ]
I suppose this is better than a little sticker.
[It's much, much better. He give's Felix's ass a cheeky squeeze, before leaning in for another kiss. ]
no subject
I was worried your estimation of my abilities had fallen.
[His fingers tangle around the know of Crowley's tie.
Truthfully, there might be better ways to deal with his problems that using this as a distraction, but there were also far worse ways as well. This is something he's always fallen back on. Something he's always needed.]
no subject
He gives Felix's bottom lip a playful little sharp-toothed nip. ]
I assure you, that will never happen.
[In this, at least, he is absolutely honest. ]
no subject
Even with all those centuries of experience?
[Yes, he will keep bringing that up. This time, he means it mostly in jest.
The tie comes loose with a final purposeful yank, but he leaves it in place. Instead his hands trail down his chest, slipping under his coat to the demon's back. He returns the earlier favor with a light nip of Crowley's lip that transforms into a steady, sucking kiss]
no subject
Yes. Even with all those centuries.
[With the final button popped, Crowley shifts one of Felix's shoulders free, kissing the exposed flesh as he does so. ]
You're allowed to feel a little smug about that, by the way.
no subject
Thank you for the permission.
[It sounds casually sarcastic but it isn't, entirely. His skills were forced on him but they're one of the few he has. If it can bring pleasure to someone else, then if means they are worth more than the pain they cost. It means that he's valuable.
Meanwhile, he blindly works the hem of Crowley's shirt upwards, rolling his knuckles against what skin he uncovers.]
no subject
[It was always a secret worry of Crowley's, that he was triggering bad memories for Felix. Worse still, that he created any parallels between himself and Malkar in the wizard's mind. That was the absolute last thing he ever wanted. He knew the scars the man left on Felix were deep, but he deeply, deeply wanted Felix to see how much he truly was worth. More than anything. Crowley has seen and experienced a lot in his long existence, but nothing quite compares to Felix.
Nothing and no one shines quite so bright. ]
Jussst putting that out there.
[This hiss was on purpose, as was the deliberate drag of too-sharp teeth along Felix's neck, following the curve to his collarbone. His hands move to push the shirt the rest of the way off, letting it drop to the floor in a heap. ]
/lays down and dies
Even that tiny spark of pain isn't like his Master, because it's for him, and not part of some other person's power games. He knows that beyond a doubt.
He can only make a small mewl of sound at first, hips twitching of their own regard from the precision strike on nearly every one of his buttons. He remembers where his hands are a moment later and tries to even the level of clothedness between them by working the demon's shirt open with considerately more desperation than before.]
No. But maybe...I enjoy having to ask.
[Because if anyone is going to end up begging it's him. He didn't entirely mind.
What matters here is that he's shirtless and the lights are on and he does not care. Crowley has seen them. Every scar. He's seen everything that matters, and nothing is more freeing that that.]
not even a tiny bit sorry
Well, far be it from me to stop you doing something you enjoy.
[There's a playful spark in those serpentine eyes- eyes that exactly two people in the Fleet ever really get to see - as Crowley's hands move to Felix's backside, supporting him as he turns, flipping him onto the bed. He's always very aware of the thin line, between giving Felix the kind of excitement he enjoys in the bedroom and what would actually be harmful. He's a tricky line to walk, but walk it he does.
His kisses move downwards, from Felix's neck and collarbone, down to his chest and his belly. His lips press against scarred and unscarred flesh alike, adoring every inch of the man. ]
