"Okay," she says softly. He's so hyperfocused. It's got to be more than just the game that's bothering him. It's the prize. She's sure of it. But she keeps her lips pressed together and watches him try one more time.

He shoots. And shoots and shoots. And finally he's done, aaaaaand "Oh! Too bad! Try again?"

And he drops the gun and kicks the booth hard. He immediately curses and waves his foot, looking like he's in pain. Stupid Atroma games, trying to kill him and take his sanity.

"Hey, hey. Arthur." She reaches out to take him by the shoulders, turn him to face her. "Take it easy. Come on, you need a break. Food, water. You've been at this for ages."

Hours, at least today. They've been stuck here earning points at a snails pace, trying to get enough to win his device.

"It's..." God, it's silly to get this upset over this. He pulls her close, shaking his head. "I'm sorry. You're right. We should take a break."

And he needs to take a breath and not get rattled by this. It's not the end of the world if he doesn't get it. It would just be nice.

She holds him close, rubbing his back to soothe him down. It's not surprising how upset he is, they've been here for days, doing nothing else but these stupid games. And now, the one that's in his skill set is basically mocking him.

"Lets go eat something, hmm? Take advantage of the real food here. We can come back to it."

He nods, and pulls away with a smile. "Yeah, real food! That's the biggest perk here."

He takes her hand and heads for the buffet.

"Really, though. If you're sick of this, you can leave. No reason for us both to go crazy."

"I saw how much your machine is. If we don't work together, you might not get it." And she's determined that he get it.

There's fruit here, and she's going to go right for it. She's a sucker for sweet things, and fruits are always a prized luxury.

"I think I should try a different game. I can't even hit the paper. That gun jumps too much."

"I guess it won't be the end of the world if I don't get it. I just will have no chance of helping you with your dreams." And... dream sharing feels like such a part of his identity. He's been longing for it for a little less than a year.

He grabs a plate and puts some finger foods on it. "But thank you. For sticking with me through it."

"Where else would I be?" It's a rhetorical question. He could probably hit her with something, some lame answer, that would be totally wrong, if potentially factually accurate. But she's only ever be here, helping him.

She fills her own plate, and walls with him to have a seat. She nibbles and thinks for a minute.

"There's got to be some trick to it."
