[For those who've been here awhile, a familiar scene comes onto the feed. Allen's standing behind a table in the Blue Fish clinic. The lab itself looks more Halloween-y than usual. There's a jack-o-lanterns and a few Halloween decorations. Timcanpy is behind him on the shelf, where what looks to be a little cape and fake vampire teeth over his already sharp teeth. Okay.]

Hello everyone! If you don't know me, I'm Allen Walker, one of the medics aboard the Blue Fish. Nice to see you all again.

Just a few announcements today! We'll be holding our bimonthly blood drive next weekend. The blood donated is kept for medical emergencies that require blood transfusions. In other words, we use scientific methods to help someone whose lost a lot of blood. If you donate, we'll gladly pay you!

If you're interested and are over the age of 16, please fill out the form attached to this video. [And what do you know, it's there] If you're interested in volunteering, please let me know. Vampires and similar beings interested in volunteering need to be able to have restraint around blood and will not be allowed to sample the blood. The blood drive will be held on the SS Blue Fish, as usual.

And as always, there will be cookies to anyone who volunteers or donates.

Moving on, a few other minor announcements. [He puts on a pair of reading glasses and starts to read off a sheet of paper:]

Over the next few weeks, there's a number of Earth holidays of a rather...macabre flavour: Day of the Dead, Bonfire Night, and most popular- Halloween. So if you have Earth crewmates carving pumpkins, dressing up, showing a fascination with skeletons, ghosts and other things like that, gouging on candy, burning effigies- that's why. Please don't be alarmed.

If you drink blood or enjoy your meat rare, I've been notified that the meat from the planet can give rather...odd side effects if not cooked thoroughly. Side effects include decreased in good decision-making skills and increased urges to write poetry. Please show caution.

Finally, there's been many reports of some people feeling some sort of...presence with the planet. [for a second, he looks uneasy about it, but it leaves after a moment] We're still looking fully into it, and I'm not sure what it means. If anyone has any more information about it, it'd be appreciated.

Actually, it wasn't Sokka this time. He doesn't need strange meat to write poetry.

Well that's good. If he can wait at least long enough for the meat to be cooked then the food supply must be okay.

I suppose writing poetry is better than getting sick or breaking out like an allergy. I admit; it's a strange side effect.

[But onto the other thing that got his attention.]

This planet is a strange one, isn't it? I have to admit the more time I spend on the surface the more I think I do feel a presence as well. Not in the way say of being watched, but something out there.

Well, it seems to be a magical planet. Magic planet, magic side effects. I'm just glad no one's turned into an animal.

[Since that's always fun]

Mm. There's some sort of creature living there. Not sure if it's the planet itself or the forest or something else.

Yeah? What makes you sure it's a creature? Just the feeling of being watched some have?

Ah, sort of like that...

It's more...the feeling is similar to a situation I've been in before. Though, it could easily be a coincidence.

Do you mean since joining the fleet or before that?

And I hope that feeling before didn't end with something bad.

[And ha...he hesitates answering that conclusion, but the side glance is probably enough] I...don't want to jump to any conclusions just yet.

[He's not fully surprised by the switching to private. Lots of people would do the same. However...as much as he liked Vash? Allen was a private sort of fellow. So he offers a smile]

No, it's fine. If I get any more evidence pointing to what I think it might be, I'll let people know. Until then, I don't want to cause a panic.

[Vash didn't exactly expect Allen to start opening up his soul. He wouldn't either. The privacy was more of a: just in case.]

Well, as long as you don't think anyone is possibly getting into too much trouble on the planet for now hopefully everything will be fine.

Yeah. I think for now, the biggest thing to worry about is someone pissing off some animal and getting attacked that way, but there's only so much I can do about that.

[Stupid people are gonna be stupid ok]

Yeah, can't help it if people are stupid on their own. [No, he can't read thoughts. Vash just understands people.]

Although. I'm curious.

[A pause. As he feels a bit foolish, but he can't help himself.] Have you ever needed to have a patient eat a small camera before?

Er-

What? [THAT'S RANDOM]

Well, Sokka and I were talking about how we never see any cameras for this television show. He mentioned that they are probably really small and mentioned he saw some cameras in your lab. You know, I'm assuming they're to look inside people to make sure they're healthy.

Have you ever had to use one? [He's curious.]

[...A soft groan] I knew I shouldn't have told him.

No, we haven't had to use one. They're only used in extreme circumstances.

That's good. That you haven't needed to use it. I don't think a camera would taste very good. [As he's assuming you eat it.]

Uh....right.

[He'd explain how they actually put it in, but...nah. Nah that would probably not make this guy feel better.]

[Wise choice Allen. Wise choice.]
