Man I'm Just Trying To Shop For My Kid Here
Who: Otono-somethingsomething Makie and you
Broadcast: fleetwide audio.
Action: Junkstation
When: Soon after the events of this post.
[Audio]
There are slavers aboard the waystation who are actively seeking cargo. [The mildly courteous tone Makie is known for is absent, though she doesn't sound angry. Inflectionless. Possibly a little strained, if anyone knows her well enough.]
This is the second time I know of they've attempted to take someone, and this time they've succeeded. His name is... Max. He's a crew member of the Starstruck.

We know where he is. [Thanks to polite inquiries made of a survivor. Very polite inquiries.] We need assistance to retrieve him.
...and a doctor, also. Thank you.
[...totally asking for Tempest on that last one, okay.]

action;
I hope that request is for yourself.
action;
Of course it's for myself. [Mildly.] I'm not so foolish as to continue a battle against such odds when I'm at a disadvantage that can be easily dealt with first.
[It's not a thinly disguised lecture! Just... an observation.]
no subject
I am used to stubborn men who do not know when to seek help when they need it, so I apologize.
[look at her gracefully sidestepping any thinly disguised lecture-observations, so smooth]
no subject
I am also used to such stubborn men. They tend to die sooner rather than later. [Max is one. She's pretty sure.]
Do you intend to go after him?
no subject
I do, for all that he will likely not be happy about it. [she tilts her head] Do you intend to as well?
no subject
But if I go in without treatment, I'll prove more of a liability. It's good to know how much I can handle before I go, especially if a life is on the line.
no subject
She winces a bit and presses her fingers into her side, judging the damage]
I can heal it if you like, once a doctor has looked at it. At the very least it will stop the bleeding and allow it to heal a bit quicker.
[she could only manage smaller healing spells up here but she has to offer regardless. Makie did save her, after all]
no subject
I would appreciate that. I'm sorry-- I didn't know you were a healer as well as a...
[...okay what do you call someone who uses magical fire, god knows. She trails off, then starts again.]
I should have asked before I called in for a doctor.
[She's worried she was rude, lmao go figure.]
no subject
[she'd been so caught up "questioning" their captive and everything else that it'd slipped her mind. She generally didn't bother to heal herself]
no subject
[...
She smiles faintly.] It's an interesting way to meet someone new. My name is Makie.
no subject
Had you not come along when you did, I doubt we would here now exchanging introductions. I am Tempest; well met, Makie.
no subject
They wanted him but not you. Do you know why, or were you just... too much for them to handle?
no subject
It sounded as though he'd had a run in with them before. The one I killed first spoke of some mistake.
As for me, I think they just wanted me dead for interfering. [she says it a little blandly, as it isn't the first time she's heard it]
no subject
That man has a knack for annoying all sorts of people, it seems. Though in this case, I imagine they more than deserved it.
Can your healing magic help your ribs?
no subject
She tilts her head at the question and faintly shakes her head]
They are not broken, so I would rather save the magic for you or for when we go get Max. I will heal them after.
no subject
The ribcage is complicated and fragile area. [She sits, applying further pressure to her shoulder.] Further injury could be lethal.
no subject
When the doctor arrives, he can look at them. [she thinks she can relent to that much]
no subject
I think as long as you wrap them, they shouldn't take further damage.
[Just, y'know. Go lie down for a while after we kill a lot of slavers, okay.]
no subject
[she will absolutely go lay down after they kill slavers]
