You are cordially invited to Cisco and Winn's Not-Too-Terrifying Halloween Costume Party!

[ on the night of the 28th, the lecture hall will open its gates though it'll look remarkably different. Winn and Cisco would have decorated the corridors leading to it with Jack-o'-lanterns made from the pumpkins gathered at the little patch on the planet. The hall itself will be similarly decorated, along with other traditional scary Halloween decorations made from paper and fabric ( don't ruin the little paper spiders, they took hours to make! ). There will be music from various times of Earth-1 and Earth-3, so don't be surprised to find Lady Gaga playing alongside the Spice Girls! Feel free to make requests or otherwise, just show your skills on the dance floor!

There will be a bar run by Nami offering free sodas, though you'll have to pay for your own alcohol ( remember, don't drink and fly! ). Alongside the bar, characters will find a few tables offering candy from Earth-1 won by Cisco at the game room with a little sign reading TAKE ONE, LEAVE SOME FOR OTHERS and quite a lot of space chips and protein dips as well as various candy from all over the different planets ( cleverly hoarded by Winn! ) and a large selection of pumpkin pies and pumpkin treats. Characters will also find a line leading to Cisco's trusty ice cream machine, though it'll only offer peanut butter flavored sorbet.

At the corner of the hall there will be a karaoke machine with a little sign-up sheet. Characters could sign up solo or in groups and list the song they'd like to sing. Keep in mind though, the entire hall will be able to hear your rendition of Sexy and I Know it!

Adventure-seeking characters will be able to follow signs reading HAUNTED HOUSE and reach a large hall that was turned into a maze by large cardboard blocks painted black or covered by dark fabrics. Making it out of the maze won't be too hard and the maze itself won't be too frightening but will be mildly startling. It'll include some nifty engineered animatronics of witches, scarecrows, scary clowns and skeletons as well as holograms of ghosts! The song featured in the invitation will also be heard here, on repeat. It's a good break from the dancing and for some private conversations and moments.

Remember, costume are mandatory! you don't want to be caught by tonight's pumpkin kings, do you? ]

So the alcohol's really here to make up for how little I have to tell you about my time in space so far. You're just lucky our audience apparently gleaned some level of entertainment out of my accidentally almost blowing up our kitchen - and possibly the entire ship - on two occasions! Otherwise I might not have been able to afford your drink.

[She takes the beer, smiling a little in response.]

That says something about the level of taste. I guess I can't complain, though.

[Taking a sip off her bottle, she lifts one shoulder in a shrug before she continues.]

So you haven't been down to the planet?

[arfvader]

[He takes a big swig from his own bottle and grimaces a little.]

Yeah, about that... The Powers That Be saw fit to make me a cook, which has been an experience of some description. I attempted to make a stew that resulted in an intractable bout of gastroenteritis.

[This is why doctors are terrible at dinner conversation.]

Have you had a chance to explore the planet yet?

[outstandingbalance]

[Her brow lifts a little at that. Not exactly attractive, no. She'll just let the conversation move past it.]

I have. Spent a lot of time down there recently. It's been—not exciting. But interesting.

[arfvader]

[That definitely perks his interest enough that all thoughts of gastric discomfort have flitted away!]

What makes it so interesting? No detail is too small!

The main reason is pretty big. I've been exploring the shipwreck. Trying to see if I can figure out what brought it down.

[arfvader]

Don't suppose there were any survivors?

[outstandingbalance]

Hard to say. Whatever happened, it happened a long time ago. Decades, probably. We haven't found any bodies—just makes it more of a mystery.

[arfvader]

Well, if you find yourself in the position where you require the services of a forensic pathologist, I am always available.

But on that note--!

[He holds out his beer bottle towards her to clink it!]

My first party in space! The mystery can hopefully wait another day while we have a little fun!

[outstandingbalance]

You know, I'll remember that.

[She'd almost like to need one. At least then they'd be getting some more information out of things.

But she'll raise her bottle and clink it against his gamely.]

I take it you're feeling well enough for singing and dancing now—and drinking, obviously.

[arfvader]

[In his best approximation of a Harrison Ford voice:]

"I’m like a bad penny, I always turn up."

[Regular British voice!]

Which is to say, absolutely! Never felt better! Are you going to be participating as well?

[His impression gets an amused snort.]

That depends what you mean by participating. I'm here. I'm in costume. I'm drinking—I haven't decided if I'll be singing yet.

Think about the ratings!

[Natasha snorts, a smile playing around her lips.]

You make a strong argument.

What do you think a duet would do for the ratings?

With two stunning individuals such as ourselves? Through the roof, without a doubt!

[No one said anything about singing well.]

My thinking exactly.

[She takes another healthy drink of her beer.]

Only the greatest duet of all time, obviously.

[He pauses for dramatic effect, then fans his hands out in front of him.]

Only if I get to be Monica.

[arfvader]

You drive a hard bargain, but I guess I can take one for the good of the team.

Sir, it sounds like we have a deal.

[arfvader]

[Holds out his hand so they can shake on this most sacred of deals.]

[She accepts his hand, giving it a very professional shake.]

[arfvader]

[He offers her his arm - like a gentleman! - and sweeps his other out towards the stage.]

[She takes his arm, and goes with him. For all her hesitation, she seems confident enough as she goes with him and climbs on stage]
