[ on the night of the 28th, the lecture hall will open its gates though it'll look remarkably different. Winn and Cisco would have decorated the corridors leading to it with Jack-o'-lanterns made from the pumpkins gathered at the little patch on the planet. The hall itself will be similarly decorated, along with other traditional scary Halloween decorations made from paper and fabric ( don't ruin the little paper spiders, they took hours to make! ). There will be music from various times of Earth-1 and Earth-3, so don't be surprised to find Lady Gaga playing alongside the Spice Girls! Feel free to make requests or otherwise, just show your skills on the dance floor!

There will be a bar run by Nami offering free sodas, though you'll have to pay for your own alcohol ( remember, don't drink and fly! ). Alongside the bar, characters will find a few tables offering candy from Earth-1 won by Cisco at the game room with a little sign reading TAKE ONE, LEAVE SOME FOR OTHERS and quite a lot of space chips and protein dips as well as various candy from all over the different planets ( cleverly hoarded by Winn! ) and a large selection of pumpkin pies and pumpkin treats. Characters will also find a line leading to Cisco's trusty ice cream machine, though it'll only offer peanut butter flavored sorbet.

At the corner of the hall there will be a karaoke machine with a little sign-up sheet. Characters could sign up solo or in groups and list the song they'd like to sing. Keep in mind though, the entire hall will be able to hear your rendition of Sexy and I Know it!

Adventure-seeking characters will be able to follow signs reading HAUNTED HOUSE and reach a large hall that was turned into a maze by large cardboard blocks painted black or covered by dark fabrics. Making it out of the maze won't be too hard and the maze itself won't be too frightening but will be mildly startling. It'll include some nifty engineered animatronics of witches, scarecrows, scary clowns and skeletons as well as holograms of ghosts! The song featured in the invitation will also be heard here, on repeat. It's a good break from the dancing and for some private conversations and moments.

Remember, costume are mandatory! you don't want to be caught by tonight's pumpkin kings, do you? ]

Sorry, wait no - but, [ congratulations kitty, you may have broken your boyfriend! ] I don't mean to worry you really I'm fine and if I volunteered for anything else I don't remember it so I'm pretty sure it's just the doll thing and that's a piece of cake - well actually no, a cake wouldn't burn as satisfyingly, burnt cake is just depressing - [ broken. ]

I told Steve someone's gonna end up punching me by the end of the night - gotta admit, this was a twist.

What? Who punched you? [See, it didn't even register. But she is ready to kick their ass for what it's worth.]

Uh...you did? [ ... ] I'm pretty sure I didn't hallucinate it, you're not supposed to feel hallucinations, right? Unless they're seriously good hallucinations in which case skip home, don't collect 200 - go straight to medbay.

Oh...that? That was just... [Getting his attention and expressing complex emotions that her less-than-sober mind wasn't keeping up with. Is that going to sound bad? Dismissive? If she were trying to punch him for real she's pretty sure she could get a knock out. But also a good thing to pass on saying.] Right. Sorry. [Rubbing his arm very lightly where she struck.]

It's okay, I probably had it coming. [ there's that unhealthy mindset popping up again. well, it didn't really hurt that much so he's much more forgiving of it. ]

Okay let me just throw this away and we can deal with the decorations tomorrow. [ picking up everything he's been sweeping, they should probably go home before he gets himself into real trouble. ]

No, you don't have things like that coming. [She sighs, feeling like the monster she's been trying not to be.] I should use words. [She usually does. And when she doesn't it's usually hugging or kissing.]

he's used to people who don't realize their own strength, but it does make him feel weak and pathetic every time, so he feels the need to belittle it as much as possible. that didn't even count for her, did it. ]

[ always pushing aside his own needs - he knows she prefers it, so he offers even though as emotional and vulnerable as he's feeling tonight with all the drinking and the feeling he'd much rather be on the tourist where he's completely comfortable with anyone he might run into. ]

[She kisses his cheek. She knows "we can go" is code for they never made a plan or he's forgotten it too. And that he's doing what's best for her because that's what he does.] Tourist it is. [He's had a big night. Not a bad or traumatizing one she hopes but enough that he could probably use a night in what's really his bed. It would be a lot easier if they'd both just made homes on the same ship, but since when is anything ever the easiest?]

[ honestly, even if they had made a plan he'd remembered, he would have still answered with the windrose. he's upset kitty which, to his somewhat drunk (and let's be honest that not even a necessity) mind that means he needs to make it up to her.

but he's not going to fight her on this, both because he doesn't want to upset her further, and because he really does just want to go to his home tonight, more than most nights - just because he's tired, and he's more comfortable there.

he leans in to kiss her forehead this time. ]

Have I mentioned you're the best yet?

A few times. [She smiles back at him.] How does that work when you're the best too though?

[There's nothing he needs to make up to her. She feels bad she reacted in a way that was upsetting for him. She hopes he'll take better care of himself but doesn't expect changes overnight.]

[ his feelings will probably remain extremely irrational for a long time. possibly forever. ]

If I was the best I'd set that auto pilot to the Windrose anyway, so you're the bester. Problem solved.
