[ on the night of the 28th, the lecture hall will open its gates though it'll look remarkably different. Winn and Cisco would have decorated the corridors leading to it with Jack-o'-lanterns made from the pumpkins gathered at the little patch on the planet. The hall itself will be similarly decorated, along with other traditional scary Halloween decorations made from paper and fabric ( don't ruin the little paper spiders, they took hours to make! ). There will be music from various times of Earth-1 and Earth-3, so don't be surprised to find Lady Gaga playing alongside the Spice Girls! Feel free to make requests or otherwise, just show your skills on the dance floor!

There will be a bar run by Nami offering free sodas, though you'll have to pay for your own alcohol ( remember, don't drink and fly! ). Alongside the bar, characters will find a few tables offering candy from Earth-1 won by Cisco at the game room with a little sign reading TAKE ONE, LEAVE SOME FOR OTHERS and quite a lot of space chips and protein dips as well as various candy from all over the different planets ( cleverly hoarded by Winn! ) and a large selection of pumpkin pies and pumpkin treats. Characters will also find a line leading to Cisco's trusty ice cream machine, though it'll only offer peanut butter flavored sorbet.

At the corner of the hall there will be a karaoke machine with a little sign-up sheet. Characters could sign up solo or in groups and list the song they'd like to sing. Keep in mind though, the entire hall will be able to hear your rendition of Sexy and I Know it!

Adventure-seeking characters will be able to follow signs reading HAUNTED HOUSE and reach a large hall that was turned into a maze by large cardboard blocks painted black or covered by dark fabrics. Making it out of the maze won't be too hard and the maze itself won't be too frightening but will be mildly startling. It'll include some nifty engineered animatronics of witches, scarecrows, scary clowns and skeletons as well as holograms of ghosts! The song featured in the invitation will also be heard here, on repeat. It's a good break from the dancing and for some private conversations and moments.

Remember, costume are mandatory! you don't want to be caught by tonight's pumpkin kings, do you? ]

Truly? You're a pirate?

[That's pretty exciting. She leans in as she takes a sip from her drink.]

[namisan]

Yep! I'm the navigator for the Straw Hats. [Who thus far have better luck at escaping this place than she does.] And there's a lot of drinking involved, it's true. What are pirates like where you're from?

[The costumes she keeps seeing aren't entirely wrong, but...]

That's a rather laidback name for pirates. Usually the pirate crews back home had something rather fierce for their names.

[She huffs out a laugh.]

Well, I can't say I have much experience with them [Save for one but she is soooo not getting into that topic.] but I hear they're mostly stationed out of a placed called Llomerryn, south of Rivain. The most notorious band of them are called the Raiders. They drink a lot too, and certainly aren't afraid to get their hands dirty if needed.

[namisan]

[She grins.] It's a very laid back name for a very laid back captain. We didn't name us. The marines did on the account of my captain's hat.

Just called the Raiders? That seems pretty generic for pirates. Do they have any redeeming qualities?

[bryces_pup]

[She shrugs.] Couldn't say. I'm not familiar with them. Most of what I know is through stories and gossip. The one I met seemed decent enough, but I suppose they're like any group of people: you'll have your good ones and you'll have your bad ones.

[namisan]

Well said.

[She retrieves a couple empty glasses from the bar and rinses them out.] I thought all pirates were monsters when I was a kid. But then I met some amazing ones, so. Kind of an eye opener on that score.

...I'm Nami, by the way. [She's seen Riona around before-- hard not to when you manage a bar the woman's celebrated a birthday at.]

An understandable assumption to make. Pirates aren't generally well known for their altruism.

[Most are probably assholes, if she's being honest.]

Riona. Nice to meet you. I think you were at my birthday bash, weren't you?

[namisan]

That's right. Working on getting you all drunk. [She grins cheerfully.]

I like working events more than anything else. It's nice to see people celebrate.

[bryces_pup]

Well, you succeeded. I got a bit tipsy. Hard not to when everyone's drinking and celebrating like that. Thank you for doing that, by the way. I had no idea there was even to be a party, but I appreciate what you did for it.

[namisan]

Don't appreciate me too much! I made a lot of money that night, after all. [But she grins.]

As you well should have! I think there was enough alcohol going around to satisfy a whole crew.

[namisan]

Hey, a crowd that appreciates its booze is always fun to see. [And profitable!] Is it the usual way you'd celebrate your birthdays?

[bryces_pup]

Yes and no. Birthdays in the past were a bit stuffier than that one. There was always a party, but as I got older they were slightly more formal affairs. [Full of her parents' friends or just other local nobles schmoozing. And occasionally one or two attempts at getting her to court some lord or lady's son.]

[namisan]

Hmm... noble family? [Everyone else tends towards the opposite.] Which do you prefer?

[bryces_pup]

I have more fun with the more informal ones where everyone just gets drunk. But I'd put up with the stuffy ones again if it meant celebrating with my family.

[namisan]

That's more than fair. [She smiles at that, softer.] I'd do the same.

But. [She collects a glass as it's dumped on the bar, turning it upside down on the bench.] I'm not a noble, so I guess my family would probably have drunken parties, too.

[bryces_pup]

[She nods, but for her, it doesn't matter. She'll never get to celebrate with her family again. If putting up with stuffy parties would bring them back, she'd do it without a moment of hesitation.]

How do you normally celebrate birthdays?

[namisan]

When I was very little, my mother would cook my favourite dish and I'd get a couple new dresses or a book and we'd play games out in the orchard with some of the other villagers. Lately, though? I had my last birthday on fleet too-- I threw a party down at the beach of the planet we were on. I like it when people have a good time, and I like they actually want to help me celebrate.

[There's eight years in between those two examples where she didn't celebrate her birthday at all. So now she makes up for lost time.]

That sounds wonderful, both of them. Birthdays are so wonderful when you're a child.

[One of the sad disappointments of growing up.]

A party on a beach? Oh, now that sounds like a good way to spend a birthday. What did you do?

[namisan]

Played volleyball! Went swimming. Found out the interesting way that alcohol and antibiotics don't mix.

[Deadpan.]

[bryces_pup]

Antibiotics? [It takes her a second to place the term.] Oh, they're a... sort of medicine, aren't they? What happens when you drink alcohol with them?

[namisan]

Ah-- yes. To combat illness or infection. And what happens is the possible side effects from one can mingle with the possible side effects of the other. So you match maybe a little drowsiness with a little drunkenness and suddenly you're far more drunk than you thought was possible.

[At least, that's how it was explained to her. By someone already partway drunk.]

...good to know for the future. Goodness, I hope no one became seriously ill?

[namisan]

Nope, all fine. There were a few hangovers the next day, that's all. Small price to pay. [It was actually kind of fun to actually get drunk for once, though she stopped once she realised what was happening.] It was a great party all round, despite that.

--oh. Have you met the ponies on fleet?

Hangovers are always the proof of a good party. [Though they are a bitch to deal with.

She raises a brow at the question.] Er, no. What ponies?
