[ on the night of the 28th, the lecture hall will open its gates though it'll look remarkably different. Winn and Cisco would have decorated the corridors leading to it with Jack-o'-lanterns made from the pumpkins gathered at the little patch on the planet. The hall itself will be similarly decorated, along with other traditional scary Halloween decorations made from paper and fabric ( don't ruin the little paper spiders, they took hours to make! ). There will be music from various times of Earth-1 and Earth-3, so don't be surprised to find Lady Gaga playing alongside the Spice Girls! Feel free to make requests or otherwise, just show your skills on the dance floor!

There will be a bar run by Nami offering free sodas, though you'll have to pay for your own alcohol ( remember, don't drink and fly! ). Alongside the bar, characters will find a few tables offering candy from Earth-1 won by Cisco at the game room with a little sign reading TAKE ONE, LEAVE SOME FOR OTHERS and quite a lot of space chips and protein dips as well as various candy from all over the different planets ( cleverly hoarded by Winn! ) and a large selection of pumpkin pies and pumpkin treats. Characters will also find a line leading to Cisco's trusty ice cream machine, though it'll only offer peanut butter flavored sorbet.

At the corner of the hall there will be a karaoke machine with a little sign-up sheet. Characters could sign up solo or in groups and list the song they'd like to sing. Keep in mind though, the entire hall will be able to hear your rendition of Sexy and I Know it!

Adventure-seeking characters will be able to follow signs reading HAUNTED HOUSE and reach a large hall that was turned into a maze by large cardboard blocks painted black or covered by dark fabrics. Making it out of the maze won't be too hard and the maze itself won't be too frightening but will be mildly startling. It'll include some nifty engineered animatronics of witches, scarecrows, scary clowns and skeletons as well as holograms of ghosts! The song featured in the invitation will also be heard here, on repeat. It's a good break from the dancing and for some private conversations and moments.

Remember, costume are mandatory! you don't want to be caught by tonight's pumpkin kings, do you? ]

[ -- she's said something wrong. she knows it; she can feel it. and although she doesn't exactly regret speaking her mind, she certainly regrets affecting winn.

kate nods. ] Hallway sounds great. I'm up for some hallway hanging.

[ she takes the first few steps, practically dragging him. ]

[ she doesn't need to work hard at it - he wants out of the crowd of people and he wants out of it now.

once they're out and a few paces away from where the party spilled onto, he leans his head against the wall and tries to settle down. ]

Ahh - better. Pretty crowded there, isn't it? [ he tries to pretend. it's pretty frail pretense. ]

Winn. [ she takes up residence on the opposite side of the corridor -- leaning her shoulder against the wall. they'd done winn's costume proud with how quickly they'd vacated the room. ] We can talk about it, if you want. Or we can not -- and leave it tabled for a later date. I'm not gonna push unless you want me to push.

[winn]

[ he's grateful for the speed - and her upfront approach. he's feeling too vulnerable both in this surrounding and in his state to talk about it right now. he loves kate dearly, but he broke down a handful of times on the fleet, and each of it has been incredible difficult for him.

pulling off his mask and running his fingers through his hair, he takes a breath and nods. ]

So I won't.

[ she smiles. and then promptly throws herself under the bus: ] One of those platinum blonds was a -- [ how does cisco put it? ] speedster, by the way. So go ahead and add that to your weird little profiling endeavor.

[ does she wanna be chatting about her love life? not really. but she doesn't get sore or sad about it. and it seemed like he was actually enjoying himself when he was teasing her, earlier. ]

[winn]

[ he smiles a little, and tries to pick it back up. ]

I think that's already part of the unobtainable package - superheros, always got something to save. And for you it's also the whole coworker thing, right? [ shaking his head. ] Rough.

[ he's not really into it, but he tries, because he appreciates what she's trying to do for him. ]

[ladybro]

And an ex-con. Well. Does juvie count?

[ dude she would torpedo her reputation for you. ]

[ the truest of friends! ]

Seriously? Do we need to stage you an intervention? [ good job, the humor is making its way back to his face. not that he gets to talk, look at his future dating decision. ]

[ladybro]

It's entirely possible. 'Cause the speedster in question is also -- well, Billy? [ she gestures to her outfit. wiccan. one of her bestest friends. ] The speedster is his brother. His twin brother. Winn, I'm incorrigible.

[ look as long as she gets through this without admitting to making out with a clown-assassin -- and as long as winn smiles again -- she'll consider this all a noble sacrifice. ]

Wow, you're actually worse than me -

[ a thing he would only say drunk. ]

I don't know if I should give you a hug or a drink or both.

[ladybro]

Both. [ she grins. ] Definitely both.

It's always both, I don't know why I ever second guess myself -

[ he's gonna start with that hug, even if it's more for him than for her. ]

[ladybro]

[ she grips him tight. like squeezing the very air out of him, and nearly lifting him off his feet. she's unenhanced and she's human and she's petite but years upon years of archery have left her with some impressive guns. so to speak. ]

You're a swell dude, Winn.

[ the fact that in preparing for this party he's been mostly living on coffee instead of food and he's not a large man both work in her favor, too.

he laughs, too drunk and in need of the comfort to be embarrassed. ]

You're a super lady yourself, Kate.

[ladybro]

[ she proceeds to then go the whole nine yards, lift him (briefly!) off his feet, and give him a friendly sway. ]

More beer?

[ she gets an undignified giggle - that's right giggle. he really does love his badass k-named ladies. ]

Oh yeah. Come on, I'm buying.

[ladybro]

[ kate lets him go, and ducks back into the party while adjusting her costume's headband. ]

Awesome. Swell dude and a gentleman. Kitty's pretty lucky.

[ following her in, he orders two beers, leaving his mask off. ]

Tell her that - I think I might be starting to piss her off with the projects. [ starting, ha. ]

[ladybro]

Careful, now. Or I really will tell her.

[ kate will defend those projects. does she recognize the dangers of overexerting oneself? yep. but she respects the trait, too. overachievers gotta stick together. ]

[winn]

In that case - don't, we all know who the lucky one here is.

[ it's been seven months and some days he still can't believe a woman like that is even looking at him let alone loving him. ]

[ for a new york socialite, she sometimes slips into some serious valley girl tropes. ]

[ he snorts - it's not even her as much as the fact that that's the reaction he gets from most of his friends when the subject of kitty comes up. ]

[ and with that, she clinks her beet against his. to love. ]

[ clinking and taking a long drink before putting the beer down. ]

I can ask her if she knows a platinum blond.

[ she does. and his name is pietro. and he's tommy's uncle. but that's NEITHER HERE NOR THERE. ]

Quicksilver just showed up. A version of him. He counts. [ and kate has definitely flirted but it's so impossible to imagine actually chasing the quicksilver. for a lot of reasons. the guy was on clint's original avengers team, after all. ]
