Sound-off, one, two
[the interference is much better today! they really must be slowly leaving behind whatever cloud of radiation Diamond has been talking about, as the obligatory jingle comes in close to crystal clear. though, your host's voice still crackles a little before the signal finally irons itself out.]
Good morning, dear passengers-- both old and new! I hope you've all been enjoying all of this excitement! The Fleet is really building momentum, isn't it? The thrill of the local moons, all of this new activity, and our freshly booming ranks!
It's exciting... we're finally getting somewhere...
[she certainly sounds excited. almost edgy about it, really.]
Two whole ships are joining our ranks this week... bringing our number up to fourteen! Fourteen intrepid crews, fourteen fearless captains... [a pause, then] ...Sorry, fifteen. My mistake.
The SS Caprine and SS Starstruck join formation this week, with Captain Chopper and Captain... oh, my apologies again. [another pause...] The message must have gotten a little chewed up, folks. It looks like Captain Ellen-something, but the rest...
[and after another minute of thought, she finally gives up.]
Oh well, let's just go with that. Welcome to Captain Chopper and Captain Ellen! And we've lost Captain Henry this week, but First Mate Kingsley is stepping up to take control of the SS Bishop.
We wish you brave leaders all the luck as the Fleet gears up to make its way out of this region... and into the special surprise waiting for you in the month to come!
Enjoy yourselves! And remember-- the worlds are watching!

[This means he can get to Zoro, and hopefully eventually back home to the others, right?! He's happy about this for all of two seconds before the rest sets in. And now he's pressing his face to the nearest video feed.]
WHAAAAAAT?! C-c-c-c-captain Chopper?! Fearless?! That's all wrong, I'm not--
Video still
That's not flattering at all, you bastards! I'm not happy about this!

...Yeah. Okay. I'm setting up the betting pool now for this special surprise. 10 credits a wager, your bet has to be something more specific than "we're all going to die".
I'll start it off: my bet is something large is going to try to eat us.

I'm putting my money on terrible viruses that kill us all horribly and slowly.
Video
Ugh, viruses- but that seems like a good guess too. I'll put you down!
Video
Try again.

[He thinks for a moment.]
One- perhaps a planet entirely comprised of carnivorous plants.
[And then he smirks.]
Two- attractive men, and women if you prefer, in sheer silks sent to peel and feed us grapes. Call it wishful thinking.
no subject
Would the grapes be carnivorous too? And do you want me to specifically put down grapes as the condition - or just, attractive men and women in silks feeding you fruit?

At least one ship will get tragically blown up in the firefight. We will all mourn the loss and must carry on despite our pain.

I just hope we don't get turned into animals or something bizarre like that. Let's put ten credits on a planet with great perks but a toxic atmosphere--wouldn't it be just like them to taunt us.

[ She pulls back the camera, to show the very large cot on which she is sitting. ]
It can't be difficult to make bedding to size.
