interfaith dinner mingle!!
Who: Interfaith Center regulars & the not-so-regulars (party crashers are welcome too!!)
Broadcast: Nope
Action: Interfaith Center on the Iskaulit
When: Forward-dated to November 4th
[The Interfaith Center sounds far more bustling and busy than usual - and anyone peering inside would quickly figure out that a communal dinner is underway! Take off your shoes and walk in: the lounge has extra tablecloths on the floor as well as buffet tables with non-alcoholic beverages and all sorts of food, including Jordanian cuisine (or the outer space equivalent of Jordanian food).
The board games are out of their hiding nooks; the furniture's arranged for the maximum seating possible; and even the teddy bears donated by Kitty & Winn are out for cuddling, should anyone want them.
The kitchen's bustling with helpers - Stefan's running around at vamp-speed to make sure everything's a) done on time and b) cooked to perfection - but he sure wouldn't mind an extra hand. And if you're still not up for some food? Well, the prayer rooms are open as usual. There's always a quiet moment to be found, even if the laughter's louder and the scent of freshly-baked mansaf's wafting through the long corridors.
Anyone and everyone who's ever been inside the Interfaith Center has been invited (via text message - and Stefan even used the fancy emoji). If you're not particularly faithful or devout? Well, drop by anyways. There's more than enough food to spare.]

[ He takes a seat, immediately picks up a piece - a bishop, actually - and starts looking it over. ]
What's the booklet say is the point? Get your pieces to the other side? Stop the other player somehow? Or somethin' else entirely?
no subject
[He gives the tallest piece a little tap from behind the line of pawns.]
Every single piece can move differently, and many of them are limited by direction rather than a single space... it's pretty complicated, actually. See for yourself.
[He offers the page out to give him an idea of what the pieces all do.]
no subject
[ He squints at the page, quickly reads through what to do before handing it back and looking down at the board again. There's a smile starting at the corner of his lips - yeah, it definitely looks complicated, but it could prove to be pretty fun with the right people, he thinks. ]
Okay, so... that thing says I can move this piece here. I think.
[ So he starts with a knight - forward and over, just in front of his line of pawns. Here goes nothing?? ]

[Mikleo likewise considers a move, spending a quick moment to ensure that it's a legal move, then goes ahead with it
and we will assume it's a normal logical chess move because wtf is this game insert vaguery here.]Are you a friend of Stefan's, or a visitor of the center?
no subject
yes vaguery is good, awesome o/]Friend of Stefan's. We met through Allen a little while back, kinda been hangin' out since. What about you?
no subject
[Mikleo gestures to a corner of the room, where a little shrine is tucked up against a wall.]
That one's mine, technically.
no subject
Oh hey, cool! Yours? Like, the one you use? Or are you sayin' you're like some kinda demigod?
[ Totally a legit question - he knows a demigoddess! (and is eternally grateful she is NOT HERE.) ]
no subject
[So yeah, they're kind of like gods, and it's super embarrassing.]
no subject
[ And given everyone else he already knows because of a Particular Thing That Happened, by process of elimination... ]
Wait, lemme guess - you're Mikleo?
no subject
It's not like he can lie about it, though, so he finally shrugs.]
Yeah.
no subject
But when the answer comes, Eithan just smiles a little, and nods, knowingly. ]
Heh. Nice to meet you in person, then. I'm Eithan. I, uh... I met Lailah the same time I met Stefan - through Allen, when we were all goin' to help Sorey.
[ That... ought to explain it, right? ]
no subject
Mikleo's gaze drops to the table, toying with one of the chess pieces before moving it forward half-heartedly.]
I don't remember you. If you were hurt and I need to make amends somehow, you'll have to remind me of what happened.
[He's still not great at this, and he's grown so weary of apologizing, but he can't make light of what happened, either. Eithan doesn't look angry, but you never know.]
no subject
[ He doesn't try to get Mikleo to look at him, especially if he doesn't want to, for any reason. But he does keep smiling - slight, but friendly. Hopefully reassuring. Whatever it takes. ]
But if you really wanna know what happened? I blew some shit up and Sorey knocked my ass into the mud. But we're cool.
[ ... please excuse him always trying to joke at stupid times. ]
no subject
I'm... glad of that, I think? It's good that you weren't seriously injured, in any case.
[Or if he was, that it's not showing now. Mikleo tries not to ask too many questions about that time.]
no subject
Yeah, nah. Lailah healed me right after. It's really all good.
[ He moves another piece - a little more confident this time! Clearly he's feeling a bit more comfortable about things. ]
Never seen healin' magic like hers before... it's definitely not that quick in my world. And Sorey's really powerful, too.
no subject
[He's still sort of uneasy about that day- he'd been absent, and a dragon, so he only has a second-hand account of the whole experience. It's not something anyone enjoys discussing, anyway.]
If you ever have need of healing like that again, all of the seraphim know curative artes of some kind.
