[Besides the Bishop, Gemini's mostly kept to the waystations and the planet surface while the fleet coasts through the Lagan system, but after the Halloween party she's curious about some of the people she'd met and decides to explore some of the other ships...without their crew's knowledge.

Shuttles are always moving between ships, carrying passengers and items and it's not difficult for her to slip on board, disguising herself as an extra purchase from the waystation or whatever object that will get her onboard without being noticed. Once there she slips into the ducts, watching and waiting until most of the crew are asleep before emerging and taking human form to explore.]

[Despite appearing to wear boots, Gemini's feet barely make a sound as she walks down the central corridor toward the bridge, striding confidently toward the bridge to access the ship's database.]

[The cargo bay is dark, but it looks like there's a female figure looking through the storage compartments, but when the light clicks on it's just a crewmate that's blinking back at you a little sheepishly in the sudden bright glare.]

[Noticed anything unusual on your ship? Strange sounds coming from the air ducts, get the sensation you're being watched or happen to see something or someone changing shape?]

[In the end, he had simply been assigned to share space with them. Hux wasn't the kind of feel loyalty to anyone- it seemed so petty compared to his dedication and loyalty to his vision for the galaxy..]

They seem to live their lives at the mercy of their own emotions and irrational impulses. They have impractical, idealistic but foolish points of view of the world around them which would be amusing if I didn't have to constantly hear about it.

[Gemini's loyalty is first and foremost to herself, then to her mother's legacy and perhaps to the Brotherhood of Evil in that order. Revenge and anger drive her, so she can't entirely agree with what he says but zeroes in on the focus of his obvious disdain, agreeing wholeheartedly.]

There's nothing more insufferable than an idealistic fool. My crew are lucky that the Augment stops me from killing them in their sleep.

[He raised his eyebrows, smirking slightly.] If your Augment is stopping you, you have some abilities that are beyond that of most people then?

[There was no fear in his voice. He had a feeling that if she had wanted to kill him, she would have done so already. If she was planning on doing so, he would never beg for his life.]

[She turns to face him fully folding her arms and matching his smirk. It's good that he's not afraid because that would only encourage her, the strong survive, the weak deserve to perish.]

Merely curious. It seems many in the fleet have some sort of special power or something similar.

[And it's always good to have some idea of what others are capable of, even if he has no such abilities himself.]

[She sidesteps the implicit question about her abilities. Best not to reveal all her cards at once.]

I certainly do.[He noticed how she had sidestepped the question but he didn't point it out just yet, only raising his eyebrows.]

Something like that. We are the remains of once great empire. [He figures they can exchange bits of information, he's not about to spill everything.]

How sad, you are a senior figure then? [She doesn't really sympathise, but is a good enough actress that the empathy in her voice sounds genuine.]

[Her arm extends,elongating towards him to pluck the datapad from his hand before offering it back to him, the rest of her body not moving]

Tragic, really. Yes, I would think so, considering I head the army. [He doesn't do empathy or sympathy really, at least not anything genuine.

He tried to grab at his datapad, not having a chance to react before it was returned to him. He didn't look at it, instead watching her intently.]

[Were they in Hux's home dimension that little revelation might make her think of replacing him, but as it is there's little profit in that for her here, not least because the Augment would stop her.

She gives him a dark smile.]

[He really didn't think highly of the ships in this fleet or the technology.] I have no doubt you've noticed it's not difficult to access anything in the database.

I have noticed but still, it's unwise to attract attention if your intentions aren't exactly honourable...I've been watching you and others on this crew for the past two days.

[So far she hasn't met anyone who shares her world view or sympathies, that admission is her way of testing him to see if he is worth her while cultivating.]

Scarcely anything worth noticing, mundane routine so mind-numbing I doubt I'll remember it. You're just about the only enigma on this ship, certainly the only one with a good taste in books.

[She gives him a little smirk.]

Why thank you. The science ones are interesting if rather basic in nature. [The only personal possession he had was the datapad so he honestly didn't mind that she went through the books.]

Some have interesting abilities but get so caught up in their own morality they try to parade around as righteous ideals that we all need to live by, according to them. It's rather tiring to have to listen to.

Everything here seems to be basic. [She snorts, her displeasure at being stuck in the fleet obvious. But it's good to have found someone who shares her point of view for a change.]

I couldn't agree more. There's nothing worse than being force-fed morality by hypocrites.

Primitive, as if the Atroma just discovered space travel. [He barely thought of Heron as a ship, it was hardly on the same level as even a small Imperial shuttle let alone a star destroyer.]

[Compared to her own world it's very advanced, it's more the lack of space she dislikes. She's amused though at his offer, considering she's already been doing just that without permission.]

As it happens I've spent a great deal of time exploring my own ship, unfortunately I don't know how they work. But I will let you know if I find anything. [She's already stretching upward like taffy towards an air vent, her body thinning until it's two-dimensional to squeeze through the grille.]
