[Besides the Bishop, Gemini's mostly kept to the waystations and the planet surface while the fleet coasts through the Lagan system, but after the Halloween party she's curious about some of the people she'd met and decides to explore some of the other ships...without their crew's knowledge.

Shuttles are always moving between ships, carrying passengers and items and it's not difficult for her to slip on board, disguising herself as an extra purchase from the waystation or whatever object that will get her onboard without being noticed. Once there she slips into the ducts, watching and waiting until most of the crew are asleep before emerging and taking human form to explore.]

A) Intruder

[Despite appearing to wear boots, Gemini's feet barely make a sound as she walks down the central corridor toward the bridge, striding confidently toward the bridge to access the ship's database.]

[The cargo bay is dark, but it looks like there's a female figure looking through the storage compartments, but when the light clicks on it's just a crewmate that's blinking back at you a little sheepishly in the sudden bright glare.]

Hey what're you doing up this late?

[Noticed anything unusual on your ship? Strange sounds coming from the air ducts, get the sensation you're being watched or happen to see something or someone changing shape?]

[For one brief moment, Jeyne was almost certain she couldn't breathe. Her body flinched from the pain, her voice soft as she cried out from it. She didn't have the courage or air to make the same noise she did before. Her screams died around her, left paralyzed by fear.

This is how I die. A strange place in a strange universe with a monster crushing me.

She screwed her courage, summoning what strength she could to stare back at the woman.]

What do you want.

[Once she was sure the girl would stop screaming Gemini removed the makeshift gag from her mouth. She'd quite like to crush the woman into a pulp and dispense with her altogether, but the Augment won't let her, the pressure in her mind increasing along with the pressure in her coils. So she'll have to play nice for now, cue a venomous little smile.]

Hmm that is a good question isn't it? What do I want? Let's start with who you are and we'll work out what I'll do with you.

[Even as she was held in a vice grip, Jeyne's mind raced quickly, trying to think of ways to pull free. She hadn't been yanked from her world, been reunited with her husband (in a sense) for it all to be taken away like this. She wasn't about to be cowed, not by this thing.]

Maggy. [She lied, using the name of her great grandmother.] My name is Maggy.

Maggy hmm?

[Gemini's coils tightened slightly, enough to cut off the circulation to some of her captive's extremities. She'd gone over this ship's crew manifest earlier and there hadn't been a Maggy on it. It takes one liar to know another, and Gemini was a very practised liar.

A small rubbery tendril sprouted from the thicker tentacle coiled about Jeyne's shoulder, lengthening up towards her face, the tip turning silvery, a very real and very sharp blade now pressed to Jeyne's glabella.]

You wouldn't be lying to me would you Maggy? That would be a very stupid thing to do.

[Jeyne's not a very good liar, something she is more than aware of. It wasn't in her to be deceitful or look to feel people, which perhaps only contributed to her naivety. She didn't think that she would get away with a false name.

She squirmed, becoming breathless as the tentacles tightened around her. The tip of the blade pressed against her skin, removing what was left of the air in her lungs.]

Someone will pass by. Someone will see this.

[There's a ring of truth to that which makes Gemini hiss and while she could easily overpower a second person there would be nothing she can actually do to them either.]

Then they'll die too. [She bluffs, deepening her voice into something demonically double toned and stretching wide her lower jaw, baring a maw of far too many sharp teeth.]

Unless you do exactly as I say.

[She at least managed to get the creature to truly think about the situation before the threats return.

She's had enough death on her shoulders, many of them born out of guilt and association with her family. Rather than carry more, she stops struggling, staring at the thing with apprehension.]

What do you want?

Hmm let's see, [Her head pulls back for a moment and she gives Jeyne a thoughtful look before her 'neck' loops casually around her shoulder, bringing her head closer once more.]

First off you're going to say nothing about this little meeting to anyone, and secondly, let's see...I've been looking for an informant, I think you might do nicely.

[She didn't imagine she would be telling this to anyone. Even as it was happening in front of her, she still couldn't believe it was real. This creature shouldn't be able to move this way or change shapes. It seemed like a nightmare, one born out of fevers and madness.]

An informant?!

[Why she thought that was the most important fact over the threats was unclear.]

[Gemini's rather enjoying Jeyne's fear and disbelief as her dark smile attests, there's nothing quite like causing fear to spice up what had otherwise been a very boring day.]

Mmm, you tell me things, I don't kill your friends. How does that sound to you?

[The threat to her friends was enough to spike her anger, chasing away what was left of her fear.]

What makes you think that you will live long enough to receive those reports? You can't do anything worse to me than what I have already suffered. I'm not afraid of you.

Can't I?

[Gemini's voice is icy cold to go with her glare, and her coils abruptly tighten painfully, forcing the air out of Jeyne so that she could neither scream nor breathe.]

We'll just have to see about that won't we?

[In an instant, the air leaves her body. She feels herself struggle, trying to fight the coils as they tighten around her. There isn't much she can do. Everything begins to dim and blacken and before she can even think and believe she is about to die, she passes out.]

[Gemini watches Jeyne pass out, smiling viciously although immediately un-spooling from around her. She doesn't want her dead after all. She's already stretching back up into the air vents, giving the unconscious Jeyne a last look as she goes. They'll definitely be seeing one another again.]
