Sure! I think I can handle that! [Vash gets the water, surprised to still see the ice. He thought it would have melted by now.] This is still cold. Is it okay to water plants with cold water? It won't shock them will it?
[Vash peers at the flower that Anders points out as he waters the plants. He asked about the cold water, but he also trusts Anders knows what he's doing. So he gets started pouring.] That's one of the poisonous ones, isn't it?
[He has a good memory at least and rarely asks the same question twice.]

Yeah, but if you're careful and don't eat it, it's fine. A lot of medicines are made from poisons. My magic depends on my energy, so if something happens to me, I want to make sure the ship is stocked with every potion it might need.
[That and, to be perfectly honest, he didn't trust most of the other doctors and their ability to heal people without hurting them.]
The ice is magic, it's being heated by magic to melt it and keep a steady supply, it won't hurt them- there we go.
[He pulled one of the pods free and set it in a dish nearby.]
And, I'm sorry my friend, but unless you've got some sort of magic abaility you haven't told me about, I'm afraid I can't teach you. I could write up a guide on each of the plants and their uses and how to care for them, if you'd like.
[After a moment, Anders extracted another pod and set it aside and then turned to Vash.]
I've noticed you've added some plants of your own, I've taken to tending them as well, if that's alright.

[As he speaks Vash pours water into each plant carefully.] Nope. No magic that I know of. [He abilities and power due to being a Plant, but Vash doesn't really see a correlation between that and magic at this point.] But if you could write those instructions down I'd greatly appreciate it!
[Vash smiles, proud of his flowers when Anders mentions them.] Yeah, I've gotten them from some of the planets we visited. The red one is a geranium. I was once told that their red color in the language of flowers mean determination on it.
[Oddly it's the same shade as his jacket that he always wears. Funny that.] Before we started this room I wanted to add a bit more greenery and a bunch of different color flowers to spice this place up.

[But wait, something Vash said comes back through Anders' mind and he turns a curious look on his friend.]
Did you say 'language of flowers?' Flowers have a language?
no subject
Wait. [Vash thinks about that for a moment then smirks.] Maybe we should have asked her to do that with your room before Wolfe tried to drag his bed through the ship.
[He kids mostly as he really doesn't care about having the smaller room in the slightest.]
And yeah. Well, not like, a talking sort of language. Someone, ah, very important to me told me long ago that each flower has it's own language. Their color and shape have meanings behind them.

I honestly hadn't even thought of it, but I suppose she could have! Although, that would have been a bit too selfish for my tastes, at least the garden serves a function.
[But now he's even more intrigued.]
That's fascinating! To be honest, had someone in Kirkwall said something like that, I would have figured it was just another sale line.
Do you happen to remember any of those colors and meanings?
no subject
Well, you probably heard this one. It's the most popular one. But the red of the rose means love. Where white ones can mean a new start.

I have heard something like that before, just perhaps not in regards to flowers. Red for love, passion and blood. White for purity and innocence and faith, yellow for youth and vitality, and, of course, black for death.
[Even he'd used that one, his own funeral clothes, cleaner and sharper than anything he'd worn in years with their smooth black fabric and glossy black feathers...a nice 'ending' when he'd intended to die. It was probably better he hadn't shown up here in them.
Not a line of thought he wanted to follow, he pushed it aside.]
I think it's interesting that there's some similarities to our worlds even though there's also so many differences.
