[ affinity for explosions should be on his resume.
an excellent pilot, a skilled mechanic and particularly talented in being electrocuted and making things blow up.
that is anakin skywalker, the most disruptive jedi knight of his generation. anakin skywalker, who tried to do more complex re-wiring without kirito's supervision and considerable cautiousness. in retrospect, the electrocution wasn't bad. the cargo holding had some padding. the explosion wasn't too bad either, really. sure, it fizzed, there's distinct smell of smoke and his ears rings a little. but the fire is small, easily manageable. you know, as soon as he gets up. ]
and everything else
[ either pre-explosion or post-explosion, anakin can be found hovering over food in the kitchen or in the pilot station. floating various things, prodding at weapons or lab equipment, or simply napping in the shuttles when you wanted to take it for a spin. ]
a small explosion
spying onwatching the crew go about their lives from the air vents and concluding she couldn't care less about any of them. There's not much more to keep her here, so she'd slipped into the cargo bay an hour earlier, flattening herself against the wall and taking on its colour and texture to wait for the next shuttle departure she can slip onto undetected.
In the meantime though she's been watching the ship's mechanic (or so she thinks) at work, he is very easy on the eyes after all, and at the sudden burst of smoke and flame she can't resist.
A feminine laugh rings out across the otherwise empty cargo bay, and it should be obvious it's at his expense.]

Blast it!
[ he doesn't mind the laughter, figures it's chloe. it's lazy assumption but his head's ringing a bit and his wires are singed - actually, he feels a bit singed. ]
More helping, less laughing!
no subject
She doesn't like fire very much, so in response to Anakin's request all he gets is a lazy shrug and a smirk.]
It's your ship and your mess, you clean it up!
no subject
no, definitely not chloe. though he can imagine chloe saying something similar. ]
Great. Very helpful. This is my ship, so if you're going to stand there and do nothing, I'd appreciate it if you left.
[ he turns back to the mess in front of him. with a towel, he continues to pat the engine fire out, cursing under his breath ]
no subject
I think I'd much prefer to stay and watch.
[She wanders over to a box and sits herself on top of it, crossing her legs leisurely and watching Anakin fight the fire with an air of mild interest.]
You missed a spot.
no subject
anakin finishes putting the fire out and his frustration with his lost of mechanical skills and her melts into one ]
Alright, show's over. Go back to your ship. I clearly can't guarantee your safety here.
no subject
Somebody's snappy, it wasn't me who set fire to their own ship, and I'm perfectly happy where I am.
no subject
Fenedhis!
[The curse was all she could get out for a moment, but then her wits returned. The fire is her first concern, it didn't seem big but Creators knew if it would stay that way. Where was some dirt when you needed it? Instead, she finds a thick looking blanket and quickly begins to pat down the flames using that. After a moment, the flames are out and she turns wild green eyes on the shem responsible.]
What, in the name of the Creators, were you doing?
no subject
anakin rubs his head, his neck and then his temples, ears still ringing and his brain more slightly rattled. when he finally looks at her or the blurry image of her, he simply waves it off. his words slurs a bit but are as composed as it can be considering ]
It's fine. I'm trying to rework the conductors. But the conductors doesn't work the way they're supposed to here. I keep forgetting that.
[ he just needs a minute ]
no subject
Drink some of this, it will help with any pain or injury.
[Stupid, stupid, humans and their foolish ways. She was only doing this because this man was supposed to be part of her crew and it would behoove her to not have him injured. That was all.
At least the elfroot doesn't smell or taste too bad, it's just a...strange shimmery red.]
no subject
Uh-
[ too late, he opened his mouth. he takes an accidental gulp then push her away, waving his arm - his durasteel arm, gloved but sleeve pulled up. he swallows and coughs a couple times before he can speak again, focus returning. ]
I'm fine! [ he push himself up, unsteadily, but he is up. ] I'm fine. I've had worst. The box- [ he points at the metal box he was working on ] It's hot, don't touch it.
no subject
'Having worse' doesn't excuse a current injury. [But that's her last word on it.]
I wasn't going to touch it, of course it's hot.
...What did you mean the 'conductors don't work the way they're supposed to?'
no subject
it will, eventually; he knows that from experience. he's just impatient ]
It's different here. [ it's all different here. or maybe, the more accurate answer is that he's different here. he groans and shakes his head. ] I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep in mind not to do what I try to do. Unless you're an engineer.
[ he looks at her then points to the part in their neck where the augments are-- wait, he narrows his eyes at her ]
Who are you?
no subject
Lark Mahariel. I'm in charge of the communications on this vessel. [Creators only knew why when she'd never been asked to formally speak to or for a people in her entire life. Anyone who knew her knew that likely wasn't best if diplomacy was meant to be kept.]
So, no, I am no engineer. But perhaps my concern for the fire and the potential self-caused injury of one of the crew makes sense now.
no subject
But you're also free to find him anywhere else throughout the day, still looking pitiful. ]
no subject
She'd wanted to come in and find something to replace her missing daggers, but instead she'd found this. The elf leaned against the wall by the door to watch him, uncaring if he noticed or not.
At least until she finally spoke up.]
This hardly seems like productive sparring. You seem more likely to injure yourself further than to gain anything.
no subject
When Lark speaks, Theon doesn't so much as flinch. He merely fires another arrow and beings to nock another. This is clearly his environment. ]
That would be none of your business. What do you want?
no subject
[Despite her words, her tone didn't hold as much judgement. At least he seemed to know what he was doing with the weapons he wielded.]
I need something to replace the daggers Atroma stole from me.
no subject
[ Finally, he lowers his bow, expression grim. He really isn't lying about that. He's fought enough with Robb and he's grown tired of it. ]
As for your weaponry request, take your pick. You'll find them all there. [ He incline his head to the other target, into which various knives and daggers have been jabbed haphazardly. He's basically helped himself to the entire armory just to have his little tantrum. At least he's the one who's going to have to clean up after himself later. ]
no subject
[She did, she understood the intention behind it, even if she lacked the details to truly understand the situation.
She went to the dummy after a moment's hesitation. She didn't like to put her back to someone she didn't know, especially when they were armed and she wasn't. Still...she had to trust he wanted her injured about as much as she wanted it for him.
She plucked out some daggers, testing their weight and grip in her hands. The ones she rejected were soundly buried back in the dummy. After a moment, she spoke up again.]
I have something that could help with the swelling, if you're not too prideful. [A pause.] Or if you're not simply leaving your injuries for your friend's sake.
[She could understand that too, even if she disagreed.]
no subject
I'm fine.
[ His pride is definitely the answer here. He's returned to the ship injured so often that it's become commonplace. He rarely seeks out Stefan's medical skills anymore. The poor man has had to patch him up far too many times. ]
It isn't for his sake, but perhaps he'll sleep better for it. [ He shrugs. ] That's his business.
no subject
And that is your business.
[She nodded to him, unwilling to do needless battle with a man's pride.
She headed for the door, intending to leave now that she had what she wanted, but paused near the entrance.]
Remind me your name? I did not care to know it before.
no subject
Lose another fight?
no subject
If you must know, it was Robb Stark's fight. [ He really doesn't even sound angry, just sort of sad. ] I chose not to retaliate.
no subject
It takes two to dance. But sure, whatever you say. I just don't understand how you keep getting yourself involved in other people's fights.
[ his eyes narrow for a moment, taking another once over at theon. then decides yes, he'll give theon the benefit of doubt ]
What do they have against you?
