[The broadcast is brief and obviously accidental. A young girl's face appears on screen, confused and tense, then almost at once her brows draw down and together in an intense frown. Her expression is dark and thoughtful as the feed shakes, then cuts out entirely.

For those paying attention, the corridors off the Islaulit can be identified behind her before the transmission ends.]

Action

[When she wakes up, a young Natasha finds herself in what appears to be a small dance studio. Unfamiliar, but not too shocking. The mirror, the barre, the wood flooring, are all things she's accustomed to. It isn't where she expects to be, but it is somewhere she would expect to wake up in a general sense, in a general way.

Waking up somewhere strange isn't completely shocking either.

It's not until she ventures out into the rest of the Iskaulit that she starts feeling out of her depth. She can't place where she is, even where she might be. There's no outside. The structures are nothing like she's scene before. The computers are completely alien to her. The people are worse. She avoids them, of course. At least at first. Sneaking through shadows and hidden corners, in ducts if she's lucky enough to find access. She observes what she can, trying to work together the situation as she can, applying what training she can. But how much she can do is limited.

Tiny spy is out of her depth.

Which is what forces her to come out of hiding. (Maybe that was the point?)

When she finally lets herself be approached, she's already determined to put on a lost, scared face. It's for the best. That way people will underestimate her. Trust her more. It's a good plan.

The expression might not be entirely fake, though, and she can't entirely hide her suspicious skittishness. The end effect isn't entirely unlike a stray cat begging for food.]

[She points at Kara emphatically]

I'm Kara.

[ Now who's being stubborn? ]

[The suspicion is clear in Natasha's stance as she takes the water.]

Kara.

That's right. I have superpowers. But they don't include Russian, really. I'm sorry.

[Despite her discomfort, Natasha sips the water. She does not think Kara is the kind of person who would drug someone.]

We can go somewhere else.

[She jerks her head toward one of the nearby corridors, indicating that way as well.]

[ Kara leads her over to the gardens, where it's quiet and they're surprisingly alone ]

[Natasha studies the gardens with the same cautiousness that's marked all of her actions, sipping a little more of the water. No reason to let it go to waste.]

Nice, right?

[She looks unconvinced of just how nice it is.]

Is this what you wanted?

You can walk around and look, or you can sit... wherever!

[ she sits down, smelling a flower ]

It's just nicer in here, and not as busy as out there.

[After a moment, Natasha sits nearby, watching Kara sideways.]

Sorry if I spooked you earlier. I get to be so free here I forget that some people are still kind of freaked out by my powers.

[Setting aside the empty glass of water, Natasha's brows come together curiously.]

You never said what you were.

I'm really sorry I can't understand you. I'm definitely going to study up. I mean, I learned English in a day and a half, how hard can Russian be?

[That's terrifying. Natasha is almost jealous. She can hardly imagine having such advantages.]

You are just full of strange talents.

Sometimes I think about if I had landed in Russia when I was supposed to come to Earth and how different things would have been.

[Natasha's expression doesn't change,, but she does watch Kara as she speaks.

She's not stupid. She's putting together the pieces.]

But I guess that's neither here nor there, since you can't really change the past.

I wish I'd brought some sweets over, though. Of course I didn't know I'd meet you, but I feel like we could both use some sweets.

[Natasha kicks her feet a few times, watching Kara with every sign she doesn't understand a word.

Then, after the young woman falls silent, Natasha points at her, then flexes one arm in a very clear sign for strength.

One eyebrow quirks up in a question.]

Oh. Um. Yes. Da. Very strong.

[ flexes, also to prove her point. I mean, she's toned but she's not a bodybuilder ]

Fast and strong. And not human.

[Natasha shakes her head slightly. Red Room would kill for that.]

I could probably show you, if you like? I'm not sure what I can use...

[ she looks around the gardens ]

[Natasha just watches this. She certainly doesn't want to interfere.]

[ there's probably a bench or something around so she'll get up and with two fingers lift the bench off the ground, pinching the back ]
