[This lawyer has been near comatose for about almost a month, so he looks even more tired and irritable than usual when he pops up on the broadcast.]

Er--this seems like an odd thing to ask the general public but it's been on my mind for a while.

Do any of you ever wonder what's going on while we're here? Are our bodies back home in some sort of vegetative state, or in some cases, completely non existent? . . .or, uh, dead, if I have to put some things more bluntly.

I'm fairly sure I'm not, but it's difficult not to think about it.

In other news, does anyone know any good recipes for a 3 week old giant turkey you forget was stuffed in the freezer, feathers and all?

[For a less pessimistic option, Apollo is attempting to work out his unused muscles on the sad treadmill in the Bloodsport's cargo bay, video going because why not. He does not look unlike a very determined hamster. . .at least until he trips and nearly falls, repeatedly yelling OBJECTION as he stumbles back to finding his pace.]

I'm just pretty sure that of consciousness could be separated from a body, with science or magic, I would have heard about it.

I don't doubt that the capabilities available to our captors are greater than what's available where I'm from, but that does seem like a step too far.

It was just a thought though, trying to make sense of it all. Somehow time stopping back home and us being instantly transported here in a blink of an eye is just as much of a stretch. Yet, here we are.

Wouldn't taking only our minds also have to involve time stopping back home and us coming here.

Other than being transported here -- which is most likely -- it only makes sense if we're somehow copied.

I'm a lawyer, a defense attorney to be specific. So I've got. . .um, a good few clients waiting on me right now.

A. . .a couple, yes. I haven't had time to read through all the case files. Long story short, a bunch of people got saddled with false charges, and since I'm literally the only defense attorney in the country, that means a lot of people are depending on me to help their friend or family out. This is just the worst timing possible.

How does one become the only defense attorney?

That seems messed up.

It's severely messed up, but also extremely convoluted and not for Space TV.

But anyway--nggh. There's no other choice than to hope everything is okay back home, right? Optimism isn't exactly a lawyer's strong point, but guess I've gotta try.

Call it realism if you want. Can't do anything about what's wrong until you have the facts, and can't have those facts until you get back.
