Hey, um... [He rubs the back of his neck, trying to figure out how to say this]

Listen, I know lots of people have been having problems. You know, like trouble with the gravity or powers switching or water splashing, or...other stuff. People are saying it's the augments, but...

[He swallows] Truth is, it's me.

Something's up with my powers and they're setting off on their own. I'm working on getting them to stop, and I know anything that happens will probably wear off after awhile. I mean, it usually does! Not that it fixes anything or excuses it, but-

[He stops himself with a sigh. This is not what he wanted to say. He clears his throat and tries again]

I'm sorry. That's all what I wanted to say. I'm sorry. For all of it.

Sorry.

[And with that, he reaches over and turns off the feed

I could feel it after awhile? The drain anyway.

Alright, but you said your own stuff is going wacky - wouldn't that drain you anyway? Could be a coincidence that other people are going through their weirdness at the same time.

No- that's what I mean. My powers're going off on their own and that's what's causing it and the drain. It can't be a coincidence.

Why not? The Atroma have screwed with us before, plenty of times.

Because everything that's happened? It's stuff my powers can do.

[That is a pretty conclusive bit of evidence. But it doesn't count out the fact that the Atroma might have put the whammy on him just to sit back and watch the fallout.]

Not this big, but-

Sometimes when I feel strong emotions, they go off. Like if I'm really sad, suddenly things around me start getting really heavy. Or they'll blow up if I get scared. Or something else, depending on what I'm feeling. I try to keep it in check, but it just...goes off sometimes.

And now it doesn't even seem like I need to feel anything for them to go off. They just do.

What if you want to use them on purpose? Can you still do that?

Maybe you've hyperventilated before. That's when you're scared or you panic and you start breathing too fast. It can get pretty serious. Sometimes it gets to where you don't think you can ever breath normally again. That ever happened to you?

Uh...once or twice, maybe.

Why?

When that happens, you still gotta breath. You just have to do it right. Deep breaths. You gotta focus, breath the way you want to instead of the way that's got you out of control. Paper bags can help too, right? Give you limits. So you can re-train yourself.

[It's a fairly awkward metaphor but he's committed to it now. Clint gestures to something off-screen and there's a quiet 'flump' sound.]

If this is anything like that, maybe if you tried using those powers on purpose you could start to get control of them again. I'm not saying do anything big. Just, y'know. Maybe it could help you focus.

I think I got what you mean. I'll...try using my powers on purpose. Could hurt, I guess.
