[Once upon a time the intention had been to brighten things up and bring people together for Winn's sake. Okay, it was also meant to cheer her up after Vision and Sascha leaving the fleet. Thanksgiving seemed like a good idea and she missed the date, but it's not like there are any Thanksgiving police around, right? She'd just keep it a small dinner of close friends, right? Except between her and Winn their close friends are already too many friends to call it small. And then why not invite their friends' friends? At a certain point she realized they're probably only leaving out a handful of people so might as well just have fleet-wide Thanksgiving. What is her life?]

Thanksgiving. Tonight. The Iskaulit. Potluck. So, that means bring food to share. And if you don't know what Thanksgiving means it doesn't really matter. You're still invited. (OOC: Respond here for video.)

[Action/Mingle]

[Several tables have been set up with mismatched chairs and occasionally crates for sitting. The food is a mishmash too with the various dishes people brought ranging from protein gels to snacks from the space stations to actual, creative and delicious dishes. She did manage to recruit a few people in advance with cooking augments or an interest in cooking to help her out and she supplied as much food as she could given their recent stops. At least there are a few pumpkin pies?

There's not much in the way of decorations happening, but there are some more comfortable spaces set up with games like chess and cards. She couldn't dig up an American football, but she did find a ball for tossing at least. They could make something work even if they had to go across to the gym for more room.

The main point is just to be around people and have a good time. Kitty left things pretty open so people are welcome to bring or make up their own activities.]

[ feeling very human-shamed, wow. if he and cisco put their heads together they could probably -- make some badass man-made superpowers, how have they not been working on stuff like that yet? ]

Isn't it bad enough there are other people around here who can phase?

[She doesn't mean to human shame him. But if her power is going to come with discrimination it should come with some perks too, right? Not that she has much discrimination to face on the fleet.]

[ with an obviously joking obnoxious look on his face. although, maybe it's not all joke, he knows how insecure she can get at times. ]

[She sees the joking, but that definitely hits hard because it's the truth. Not that she doesn't want him to be self reliant and a full person on his own. He is and that's important! She wouldn't handle it well if he were truly dependent on her.

But there's still a little girl inside her who is scared and alone who could do nothing to keep her parents alive and who is afraid the X-Men might not keep her if she doesn't prove her worth and pull her weight. And a young woman who watched the man she loved and trusted most in the world murder her because his sister was more important to him. She wants to be needed and wanted because that would mean he doesn't want to leave her, right? Yeah, she knows it's a little pathetic. She also figures he probably knows exactly how it feels.]

Only as much as I depend on you. [She leans in and kisses his cheek.]

[ he does know how it feels, it's part of what makes them so well suited for each other, they can be patient with each other's insecurities.

he smiles; she's the only person who can say that and have it not feel like a joke or a tease. ]

So, like a lot.

So much. [She gets another kiss in this time on his lips.] Just like the amount of pie I intend to eat before this night is over.

[ he returns the kiss even if he does feel a little awkward with the pda in front of their friends - they've always reacted so awkwardly to it that it makes him feel self conscious. ]

You, better than anyone, should know that I always do. [Smiling at him. There definitely have been some awkward incidents in the past with their affection. She tries to keep in mind but sometimes he just has to be kissed!]

[ so much smiling. it really is hard to resist sometimes, and by sometimes he means always. some days he still gets randomly concerned that it's all a dream and he wants to do it just to make sure he still gets to. ]

[So much kissing for him. She's always happy to remind him that he can.] I hope you mean that in a dirty way.

[ shrug ]

I'm going dirty. I think pilgrims get you going.

[ lowering his voice and tilting his head ] Depending on the costume -- could work.

It's the buckles isn't it?

Hm? I was thinking -- very short skirt.

[ how that relates to pilgrims? well, she hasn't seen modern halloween costumes. ]

Oh yeah, they hated modesty back then. And you have the legs for it.

[ there are people around, so he doesn't let himself go far with it. ]

[ how can he not kiss her when she's giving him that look? ]

They're kinda yours.

Oh, I know they are. [Kissing back.] Same with mine. I'd probably even wear a pilgrim costume if you made it for me. [Costumes aren't her thing, but for Winn...]

What if I just make you a short skirt?

[ because he really doesn't have any particular feelings for pilgrims. if he were to make her a costume for that purpose, it'd be something pop cultured, and that's mostly drained from his head so no costumes for now. ]

I could wear a short skirt once in a while. [Is it a present for her or him at this point?]
