[His cloak is missing, that's the first thing he notices. And it annoys him, that was a good cloak, very comfortable, very warm. The next thing he remember is that he had just killed the Guardian, which makes him roll onto the floor in a panic (knocking the communicator down and on) and try to find a mirror to double check his eyes.

Once he's reassured that there's no green glow lingering, he heaves a sigh of relief. And turns his focus to the communicator. Which... he knows how it works? And picks it up.]

I can't be here. I have things to do, people depending on me! [Kind of.] There's a war and-

I need to get back to my friends! They need me!

[action]

[He wanders because of course he does. Khadgar has found himself in a strange place, subject to the whims of whoever or whatever was responsible for his and everyone else being there. He wanted to know whatever he can, carefully keeping a couple spells at the edge of his thoughts in case someone tries to attack him.

Eventually he stops to take in the view of the stars, somehow looking much younger than he really is as he looks out. And suddenly feeling very small.]

[He has to take a moment and think about how to explain this correctly.] Where I come from, we have a Guardian. Someone who protects the world, provides guidance.

[Alodi's words come back to him. It;s helpful.] It's just one person though and no one person can stand against the darkness. I didn't agree with the idea of that, so I renounced my vows as the Guardian Novitiate.

So, you were next in line for an impossible job?

More or less, yeah. I mean, it wasn't impossible exactly but it's too much for one person. It guarantees something will happen to the Guardian.

Doesn't sound like a job you should take unless you're prepared for that kind of commitment and ending. [Kind of like choosing to be one of the X-Men, not that being anything else was really safer back home.]

I don't believe anyone should have to take that job. Protecting the world should never have been a job for just one person. It's irresponsible.

[He'd been proud, since he'd bee chosen, that he was considered on the same level of the Guardian.]

It doesn't seem possible to me either, but then I've spent a life seeing impossible things happen one after the other, so I don't tend to doubt them much anymore. Either way, you're not there now and there's no Guardian here.

No, I guess there isn't.

[Guardian or no though, he's going to help who and where he can.]

Actually, does anyone keep records of things here? Maybe if they've explored- what's this one called? Marsiva?

There may be individual efforts but as far as I know no group or public efforts. If someone leaves their research and knowledge goes with them. [It bothered her when she arrived but she didn't step up to take it over. She'd just come from a place where she'd done that at it had never gotten them any closer to escape.]

[Khadgar actually swears. And then he's thinking, running options though his head.]

So we share notes, have everyone that wants to copy them down. The research can't all disappear then, can it?

It'd be less likely.
