[She came, she saw, she stole a bunch of stuff, she left. Makie isn't surprised by Lilly vanishing so quickly, and in some ways she thinks it's better-- these ships are too stark, too cooped up, for such a free-roaming child. She tells herself that. It's fine. It's fine.

It's not fine.

The broadcast is from Lilly's room, where Lilly's own things have gone-- leaving the leftover mess on the floor, bits of clothing, other stolen belongings. They're taken from across the Fleet, and Makie reaches down to tug a shirt free, folding it neatly. She'll organise this stuff. But she turned on the broadcast for a reason.]

If any of these items belong to you, please tell me. [Her voice sounds hollow to her own ears, and she pauses. Much quieter:] I'll arrange to get them back to you.

[She'll leave the feed on at least long enough for people to look over what's strewn around the floor. And then she'll stay in the room, sorting through the mess mechanically. It gives her something to do.

I was expecting it, in all honesty. [Nothing is forever, and Lilly has already left once before. Truly she'll be fine once she gets over the disappointment.]

And I will see her again, I know.

It's still okay to be sad about it and to miss her.

[Just as she still misses Ordis and Vision fiercely.]

[They've lost a lot of people lately. Ordis, she never really spoke to, but Vision was good company.]

I'll keep the things that belonged to her in my room. That truly belonged, that is... [She pulls back, looking wryly down at the mess.] Just in case.

Do you want some help organizing?

Please. [She smiles, more wry than sad.] I don't recognise half of the things she's stolen. Other eyes would be of great assistance.

Well first off, we can get things a little more organized here. Step back.

[As soon as Makie moves, Misty will take a deep breath and then just start... pointing at things and making them move. The pointing isn't strictly necessary but it helps her direct her focus. In a few minutes, she'll have everything in the room more or less sorted into discrete piles: jars in one corner, clothes in another, trinkets and tools in the middle. Once she's finished, Misty slumps to the floor, looking up at Makie with a big proud smile. That's far more than she's ever managed before and it's a little tiring for her, but it's a lot quicker than going by hand.]

There! That should help.

[Makie knows of Misty's magic, but even so she's quite surprised when things begin moving by themselves. She watches it with fascination until it's done, then cocks an eyebrow at Misty.]

Are you all right?

Oh don't you worry about me, I'll be fine. Just took a bit out of me is all. I've never done so many at once!

It's a handy ability. [She sinks down to the floor to join Misty, legs folded beneath her.] I suppose the jars really speak for themselves. I bought many of those from the waystation we passed. I'm not so sure about the other pile.

[With all the trinkets.]

Hmm. If no one comes to claim them, I might be able to divine them for you. Mind you, I ain't had much practice in that sort of divinin' but it's possible.

Divining...?

[Well, curiosity about Misty's gifts is a fine distraction.]

Yeah, it's one of my magics. Usually I just use it to find people, when they're lost or hurt, but sometimes you can find out stuff about people if you touch their things.

That also seems a very useful skill to have. People become lost or hurt often, I've noticed.

[Of course one time, that was Misty.]

And we gotta look out for each other because Lord knows they ain't.

The Atroma...? [Probably an unnecessary qualification. Her mouth thins slightly at the thought.]

Agreed.

So you want me to give it a shot? Can't promise it'll work but won't know until we try, right?

[She gives it some thought, and then a small shake of her head.] If it tires you, best to see if people claim their belongings on their own first. Though I appreciate the offer.
