Hey, everyone- for those who haven't met me, I'm Dr. Keller, medical officer on the Wonderduck. And even if we have spoken in the past, I've got a favor to ask- specifically, of anyone who has any sort of medical training or healing magic or the like. See, Dr. McCoy made the suggestion of having a list of people with such abilities handy in case of an emergency, and I agree wholeheartedly.

I've created a document- here on the network- and I'd appreciate it if anyone who is a healer of some sort could fill it out. It's just the basics- your name, what ship you're on, and what your abilities are. Even if you've just been taking first aid lessons from me, it's still valuable to know.

I know it can be hard to think about, but we never know what Atroma might be cooking up for us next. So it's important to have an idea of who can be directed where, if it ever comes to the point where we have a mass casualty event. A few minutes can make all the difference.

I'd appreciate that. I've never really done anything major except I helped a friend deliver her baby.

[And she wouldn't say more than that, given it's still a painful memory despite the time that's passed.]

Agreed. Where I'm from - it's harder to trust even your allies at times because of things like that. My group - we were always cautious until we decided it was alright. Prevention's a good way to look at.

That's impressive- and something I've never had to do before, myself.

[Jennifer nodded.]

I have to consider all sorts of angles, because there's no way of telling what Atroma is thinking. They communicate with us so infrequently, it's hard to get a bead on what their mood is and what the mood of the alleged audience is. Hard to predict what they might do to shake things up.

[Maggie shakes her head a bit, thinking on the Atroma and how little she still knows about them.]

So they've shown up before. Is there any way to negotiate with them?

[The answer is probably 'No'.]

No. When they DO talk to us, it's always via video messages, and they rarely respond to anyone. When they do talk, they're always perky and ignoring the fact that we're all pretty clearly unhappy and keep talking like we're all happy to be here and just thrilled with our generous hosts.

I guess generous is one way to put it. They feed us and give us clothes, so that's a start.

[Something that wasn't easy to come by where she's from.]

I'm just happy to not be dead - as morbid as that sounds. There's much worse things they could do to us for the sake of entertainment, I'm sure.

Mmhmm. That's one of the things I like about here... they're decent enough to make sure we're sheltered and that we've got some sustenance.

[She sighed.]

I don't think it's morbid at all, honestly. Life is something some people here don't have back home, so for them, it's like a bit of a second chance. And thus far, they haven't wanted to put us in harm's way.

Wait - the Atroma... they bring people back from the dead? Can it be anyone?

I won't name specific names, but yes... I know of a few people who either know or strongly suspect they may be dead back home. As in, they were in a situation where they knew they were about to bite the dust, but here... they're still alive. I don't know how they do it, though.

Oh. That's- well that's just a lot to think about.

It is. ... It just doesn't... doesn't quite seem real. But those people have found ways to keep going, too- and again, Atroma doesn't seem to like putting us in harm's way too often.
