Hello everyone. I know this is rather sudden, but this Saturday I've rented out a space in the Hotel to hold a Holiday Party for the Fleet. It seems that a lot of worlds have celebrations around this time of year, and I thought it would be nice for us all to get together and share them, and just be able to enjoy each other's company in a space that feels less like a sardine can. Even if you don't celebrate anything, please come and grace us with your company.

The party will start at 7, but by all means come as you can. There will be a buffet and a bar - please get yourself a hotel room and not use the shuttles to go home if you do drink, by the way.

So come out and enjoy yourselves. I hope to see you there.

Saturday - The Party
_{[ The party is held in a large and spacious club-like space, but it is well lit and there is a mix of small tables and an open area for dancing set up. Music drifts over some speakers, with a pre-selected list already programmed in, and not so loud that one couldn't talk to your neighbor, but loud enough to sway to the beat if you desired. The space is decorated in tones of white and gold, a touch of festivity without really nodding towards any one particular celebration.

A bar is staffed by two of the hotel bar tenders and alcohol is plentifully stocked along with non-alcoholic choices. The buffet ran along one wall, piled with meats, vegetables, fruits, and sweets - everything to suit anyone who might come.

The drink I will more than gladly do, but I'm sure you must have better dance moves than what's in my repertoire!

Well, admittedly, mine do tend to involve being a bit closer to your partner than I think yours require.

So, how's the Fleet been treating you? Can't imagine there's a lot for a man of your talents, though that is probably a good thing.

Food situation aside, I'd say it's probably a step-up from the last place I was trapped in! Not that I've had much opportunity to make the most of exploring the different pit-stops we've made, but I very much plan to remedy that!

Right, now I feel obligated to ask - where was the last place you were trapped?

Oh, you know, nothing special. Just a zombie summer camp inhabited by all sorts of weird and wonderful creatures.

Right - expansion is necessary. You don't say that kind of thing and not expand on it.

That's kind of the gist of it. It was a summer camp somewhere in France populated by the walking dead - pretty harmless - and purple gorillas that did the bidding of those in charge, amongst other things. It got a little hairy at times, usually around Halloween.

Purple gorillas? Zombies? What-?

Well, I've seen some strange things, but they usually aren't all smashed together like you're talking about. They make a biological sense within their environment.

I think we can safely say that logic of any kind need not apply at Camp "Rude Name Redacted". I accepted that upon introduction to the tentacle monster in the radioactive lake and psychic toucans.

Being of a captain's rank, I think I am entitled to redacted information.

But beside that - psychic toucans? Really? Not an animal I would ever suspect of developing such a skill.

As far as I understood, they didn't have the ability to talk to any secrets they gleaned were kept mostly to themselves.

So how could you tell if they were psychic if they didn't talk?

I really just heard about it through the grapevine. I spent most of my time in the hospital with the gorillas.

As in you were studying the gorillas or they were helping you somehow?

"Help" in the loosest definition of the word possible. They were the nursing staff provided by the camp.
