Hello everyone. I know this is rather sudden, but this Saturday I've rented out a space in the Hotel to hold a Holiday Party for the Fleet. It seems that a lot of worlds have celebrations around this time of year, and I thought it would be nice for us all to get together and share them, and just be able to enjoy each other's company in a space that feels less like a sardine can. Even if you don't celebrate anything, please come and grace us with your company.

The party will start at 7, but by all means come as you can. There will be a buffet and a bar - please get yourself a hotel room and not use the shuttles to go home if you do drink, by the way.

So come out and enjoy yourselves. I hope to see you there.

Saturday - The Party
<sub>[ The party is held in a large and spacious club-like space, but it is well lit and there is a mix of small tables and an open area for dancing set up. Music drifts over some speakers, with a pre-selected list already programmed in, and not so loud that one couldn't talk to your neighbor, but loud enough to sway to the beat if you desired. The space is decorated in tones of white and gold, a touch of festivity without really nodding towards any one particular celebration.

A bar is staffed by two of the hotel bar tenders and alcohol is plentifully stocked along with non-alcoholic choices. The buffet ran along one wall, piled with meats, vegetables, fruits, and sweets - everything to suit anyone who might come.

Unlike some, though, he waits for her to finish whatever she's eating and then steps up, stalling her before the next bite. He doesn't want you choking, he's not sure he can perform the heimlich on you given your super genetics.

He's wearing a grew suit he picked up, a slightly different version from the one he had been wearing earlier, but there had been a deal and why not, right? ]</sub>

Maybe take a break for a second? I had a reputation for wild parties, but I don't want this to be the first where someone choked on their food.

[There's no mistaking Kara as he walks up to her at this party. There's a soft sort of smile on his lips as he watches her devouring food like it might escape if she doesn't before he steps in closer.]

I was wondering if I was ever going to see you in person. [He wasn't sure if he could expect it, but where there is a party there will be Mon-El of Daxom! He has a reputation to maintain. And he had hoped she might be here. Being off the Marsiva and onto the hotel was good even if he lacked the necessary money to make full use of it. But it was still missing something.]

[ all dressed up with somewhere to go! peggy was right, there are plenty of parties popping up all over the place, he doesn't need to plan one of his own and it's a relief, planning christmas morning pancaks and presents for the tourist crew is time consuming enough.

if he's not dancing with his girlfriend, it's a safe bet to find him stuffing his face with either the impressive selection of food - or the equally impressive selection of booze, jim has good taste, of course he'll take advantage. before the night is out you can definitely expect at the very least a tipsy winn. ]

_{[ Aw, is that your surprise, Winn? Kirk will be pleased, especially since he loves pancakes assuming he's not off on another ship celebrating Christmas another way, whoops. But it is Kirk's party, so he dressed for the part, and naturally comes to bother his favorite little geek brother, leaning over him to snag a bite of something off his plate. ]}

To bad you have a girlfriend. I wouldn't mind having you as my date tonight.

[Stefan's not normally one for parties, but he figures, a couple of hours wouldn't hurt him.

He's suited up for the occasion too, though he won't even touch that booze. Instead, he's nursing one particularly large mug of hot cocoa - with whipped cream and tiny, chopped bits of candy canes - as he approaches Winn by the buffet.]

[It's happenstance that brings Erik to the food table at the same time Winn is there. In fact, a particularly techno song had started up, and Erik had shifted subconsciously away from the nearest speaker. When he tears his accusatory gaze away from the speaker, he notices that he's ended up next to Winn. Ah.

He doesn't have an opening in mind that isn't going to sound stilted, so he opts for something right in front of them: the food.]

[ Kai doesn't really know very many people here, but he can't think of many better ways to get to know them than by going to a party. If nothing else, at least there will be alcohol.

He either didn't get the memo or doesn't care about the fact that everyone else seems to have dressed up at least a little, because Kai's wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. And he's studying the food with no little interest. ]

<sub>[ There really hadn't been a dress code, people just naturally assumed one needed to dress up and Kirk wasn't bothering to assuage them of the notion. He himself was decked out, though his was a more casual formal than anything. He liked movement, thank you.

Kirk hears Kai's question as he meanders, coming over and peering over the selection he'd paid for. At least this hotel didn't disappoint. ]</sub>

[Just as Kai isn't particularly dressed up, neither is Lark. She just came in what was usually under her armor, figuring the knives she carried was likely protection enough for her.

She wasn't especially social, but she did like parties, the energy and joy usually found in them were what she liked, she could easily just slip through a party unnoticed and still have a good time.

She didn't mean to run into Kai, they just so happened to both be heading for the same place. Lark picked through what she wanted, but glanced up at him now and again. She listened to him ask another what they recommended and, when they'd given their quick response, she offered one of her own. Just because the question wasn't meant for her didn't mean she couldn't answer.]

There's a pastry near the middle with something pink on it. It's delicious...but also very sweet, I wouldn't eat too many.

[ Maglor is dressed in deep blues, the formal robes of yesteryear, but on him it looks as natural as jeans might look on someone else. He brought his harp, because he always does, but he's quite content to listen to the tunes being played, rather than interrupt.

He can be found browsing the tables in interest, or watching folk dancing. He's not hard to drag out onto the dance floor, although he has no real idea about modern dances. Mostly, he's people watching. ]

{A tiny Elfling has managed to follow Maglor to the party, being as sneaky as he knows how! Music has always been his weakness though, and he subconsciously drifts closer and closer until it would take a senseless Man not to notice him. Little Finno knows he should stay close to family if nothing else, and his cousin has always been a source of comfort.

Maglor doesn't have to even play a note for Finno to tuck himself close, but when he's not watching for the musicians, he's staring at the harp hopefully having already forgotten maybe he should try to stay out of sight!}

[The mage looks a little disgruntled at being dragged to the party and being forced into something more... fancy, really. Clothes he definitely wouldn't have gotten for himself. He didn't even like the robes the Archmages wore, robes he's sure he would have been forced to wear if he hadn't renounced his vows.]

[Ravi is mostly his friendly self, dressed up in a snazzy suit and chatting up anyone who looks remotely interested in mingling and busting a few (awkward) moves on the dance floor once he's had a few drinks. He can also be found happily indulging in not having to eat his own cooking for once.]

[She's not normally one for dressing up, but today she's at least made an effort today. She mostly sticks near the buffet table, but for at least part of the night it looks like she's people watching, too.

And if she sees anyone nearby who isn't occupied with something else, she'll glance over towards them, soda in hand.]

[Katie didn't bother dressing up at all. Which isn't to say she looks terrible-- just neat casual, like she's heading for the local bar for a counter meal. It's not really in her nature to be otherwise.

She's people-watching with great interest-- parties are always a great source of glamour as people get more drunk, and it's one of her reasons for being here, along with not wanting to spend too much time on her own. Kind of in the middle of some issues. You know how it is.

She meanders through the room to sample both food and beer, smiling brilliantly at anyone who catches her eye, and spends some time watching the dancing.]

[Somehow, somehow, Maglor had managed to drag Khadgar to the party. And wrestled him into something just a little nicer than his normal clothes. And thankfully still had long sleeves.

The music is weird, it makes it hard for him to want to do much beyond getting a little bit of food and finding somewhere in a corner to sit. It kind of defeats the point of being there, meeting people and socializing.]

[Erik didn't entirely mean to come to the party. Which is to say, he had no real plans of doing so until the afternoon that day, at which point it kept creeping into his mind. Eventually he decides to go, if only for a brief look, and to do something different with his time.

He doesn't come particularly dressed up; just an average black turtleneck and tan pants. But at some point he's gotten his hair cut. He mostly lingers around the edges of the space, picking over the food and listening to the music.

...or rather, frowning at the music. He keeps casting unimpressed looks at the speakers.]

[it's said sarcastically, as she gives him a Look.]

I guess you don't seem like the party type.

Kurt Darkholme

[For once, Kurt shows up to a party looking completely sensible in a knit turtleneck and woolen (because who really knows what space clothes are made of) slacks, both black. Yes, the man is cold. Eternally, but in winter no one questions if a man wears sweaters.

He can be found browsing the buffet from time to time, much more often getting a drink from the bar, and occasionally going up to people he recognizes to say hello. He notably will be declining offers to dance, and ignoring the music as best he can.]

_{[ Even in all black, Kurt stood out with his blue coloring. Which Kirk appreciated - he did like the color blue, as Kurt well knew from their previous conversations. He smiled when he saw him, making his way over to the other at the bar, reaching out to touch his shoulder to his attention as he sidled up beside him. ]}

Hey! I'm glad you could come out. I almost didn't recognize you all covered up like that though.

_{[ A wink showed he was teasing, an obvious call back to the costume party where they had had a more formal introduction to each other. ]}

<sub>[ It's his party, so he should probably participate, right? Well, it's not really his party, not precisely, but he's paying for it, so after the necessary pleasantries of greeting everyone near the door for about an hour and a half to a hour, he goes to indulge.

He can be found partaking from the buffet, at first sticking to things like little sandwiches and veggie dips, but eventually moving on to the desserts. That's what everyone was actually there for, right? He just had to make a show and convince himself he had eaten properly with the sandwiches. Don't judge him for licking the frosting off that tiny cake.

Where there is a dance floor, Kirk can be found. It was something he hadn't quite given up on despite being more grounded now that he had reached his thirties, weaving and swaying to the beat, partnerless or not. And he never says no to a partner - that's what makes dancing fun in the first place.

Throughout the night he will also be swinging by the bar. He has a suite in the hotel, so there's no reason to worry about having to pilot a shuttle back to the Tourist. He favors scotch and whiskey, with a beer sprinkled in between (and water, because he's a responsible drinker, clearly). Care to share, anyone? ]</sub>

[Maglor had pointed him out, determined to force him to socialize and make contacts in the hopes of learning more about a possible way home. It's when Kirk is at the bar that Khadgar approaches him, the young mage looking just the slightest bit uncomfortable at being dragged to a party. This is very much outside of his comfort zone, the apprentices didn't really party in Dalaran.]

Ah... Captain Kirk?
