...so just out of curiosity, what precisely is going on this time of year for most of you? There seems to be a lot of ... giving recently.

Well, he comes from the Christian religion on Earth. He is the son of their god, and December 25th - Christmas - is supposedly to celebrate is birthday. That is the most currently history of it and what it stood for at its most popular height.

There's some further back history to it, but as it is celebrated now in my time, it is more about the general feeling of goodwill and peace and being together, though some people to continue to celebrate the religious aspects of it.

So he is ... the son of a God, and they have a specific day for his birth. I'm rather impressed - we can only pinpoint our religious holidays to a general week.

Well, not really, it just got decided it was that day when it's really not because the date came from an even older celebration called Saturnalia. It was done that way to make conversion easier.
