[For once, Ochako's not using voice or video, bursting with energy; instead it's a simple text entry, no fluff or even an emoticon.]

does anybody have something happy they're willing to share

like, something good that happened to them, or a nice story

it's the new year, right? i wanna start fresh with good things.

[Ochako's sort of taking over the Starstruck kitchen, and making a bit of a mess of it, though unintentionally- she's all out of sorts, things are floating when she doesn't want them to, and her attempts at making something as simple as cake batter are not going as planned. Crewmates might have noticed that she's been quieter than usual since after Christmas, and it's apparently hit a breaking point.]

You've been here a while. [It's not a question but it's still hard to understand. He's spent the past few days poring over the network, reading whatever he could and he saw Ochako in there, but he saw her days ago, getting her provisional license. It just doesn't make sense.]

[Not that she'd expect Aizawa to have much trouble. She's just really eager; it'll be hard to stay patient until then now that she knows he's here.]

[She's just gonna start spamming him with messages about everything that's happened since she got here now, brace yourself. There are occasional pauses as she looks up names and certain details, but it's by far the best distraction from her misery and something productive to do, so that's a perk.]

oh a job? everyone gets one. mine is for maintenance. they gave me little cleaning robots, and i fix things here and there. i think it's just a fancy word for janitor

[Hers is pretty basic, so she hadn't gotten the gist of it until arriving on her ship and randomly knowing how to work the cleanerbots, so she's not sure how the others work.

She also doesn't know why Aizawa's so specific about keeping it, but she trusts him. It's not like she minds hers, anyway.]

not that anybody's told me. there's been some fighting on some of the planets we visited, but there are good people here. they all help each other.

Here meaning the ship that you're on? [fighting on the planets doesn't exactly bode well]

and the fleet, too! i haven't met anyone who treated me badly yet. it's not like i've met everyone yet, but still.

We can probably attribute that to the fact that there's no need to fight over supplies or amenities.

Nevertheless, we should be cautious. If you haven't started already I want you to try and keep a small stockpile of food and water.

i have some rations in my room, and some packaged stuff i bought

oh! and max has tons of stuff hidden away in the compartments around the ship! i'm probably not supposed to know about them but i've found a few while cleaning up

[well, that's both good and a little bit suspicious. it's not like uraraka is four so he's not worried for her safety, but maybe he should do a little digging on this max character just to make sure he's not crazy.]
