Hello. As you may have noticed, we've lost a few crew members of late, especially our first mate, Ms. Amidala. As such, I've applied for the position and I am now the new First Mate for the Heron.

[ With that, he turns it off. ]

[ Action ]

[ He comes on board for the first time since the new hotel arrived. Partly because of his position (and perhaps, he is running away a little). He checks up on the cockpit, engineering and their supplies in the kitchen, deep in thought and making a checklist for things necessary for the ship. ]

[Erik hasn't returned to the Heron yet, but he still gets the video broadcast. It's not surprising that Charles would have taken up the position. It's a good choice. He debates not responding, as it isn't necessary. Ultimately, he does, and he sounds sincere.]

[ There's a pause before he replies. ] Thank you. Is there anything up here you'd like me to bring down?

No, I'm all right. I brought most of my things with me when we got here.

[There's another pause.] How many gone?

Besides Ms. Amidala? Hux I believe.

[exothermia]

Good. Fuck him.

[ There's a bemused huff. ]

I doubt he'll be coming back.

Even if he does, I won't have him on this ship again.

[He'd been too sick with grief to really push the issue before. But if Hux appeared in the Fleet again, Erik wouldn't hesitate to make his feelings known in a more aggressive manner.]

[ Well, what is he supposed to say to that. ]

[When he does get back on the ship, expect a jettisoning of Hux-related items.]

It doesn't leave many left on the Heron, though.

No. But it's always been a quiet ship. I'm just — doing inventory for now.

It's probably a good time for it.

[ It. . . certainly is. He wonders if he should just stay up here - but it's a bad idea and Charles is aware of that. ]

Everything should be fine when people come back.

[He doesn't doubt that.]

[ He palms the communicator thoughtfully. He's suddenly blindingly grateful for the position, for the work, for something away from thinking about himself. ]

[Erik considers saying something else, but it seems like the conversation is over. Best to leave it for now.]
