[Since hearing of it from Beverly, Jeyne visited the gardens at least twice in a week. With her lessons in medicine increasing, it seemed a wise idea to test the various plants and determine what sort of use they might have. With small samples, she is able to experiment and test, all mainly with herself (as she wouldn't want to subject anyone else to this.) Some plants are recognizable or close to what she knew in her world. For the rest? It's a guessing game.

Her latest project is a sweet smelling salve. When not attempting to mix it with other plants, she rubs it gently on her wrists, smelling the aroma with a small smile.]

Blue Fish

[From one type of experimenting to another. With very few patients to treat, Jeyne has begun to occupy herself with different skills, determined to learn them and no longer be a wastrel. She practices her cooking when able, sometimes not burning the meal and slowly making something that looks nearly appetizing. She continues her lessons with Beverly in medicine, dutifully taking notes. When not with Beverly, she reads over all the information she compiled, committing it to memory and practicing in her head. There are times when she wanders to the cargo deck, toying with her bow (sans arrows), muttering to herself as she works at her aiming.

It's a bit difficult without a target or arrows, but she doesn't intend to injure anyone...even if it would help improve her medical training.]

[Kitty hasn't been traveling to the Iskaulit as regularly since they arrived at the hotel. There hasn't been much time to spare between work and play, but she still stops in when she can for a good workout in the gym. Today, she heads to the gym by way of the gardens out of some protective instinct, wanting to make sure they're being tended to, not that she's ever been the one to do it. But it wouldn't be the first time she looked out for things in a subtle sort of way.

She doesn't recognize the girl sniffing her wrist, but when has that ever stopped Kitty from speaking to someone?

And, yes, Kitty is in close fitting workout clothes that show off her midriff.]

[He's on the Iskaulit often enough that he's beginning to be a familiar face there; the Caprine's fine and all, but the larger facilities on the Iskaulit make him feel more at home. The gardens are usually a good place to find a quiet spot to read - usually whatever medical texts he can find - or even just lounge for awhile.

He's occasionally run into other people there, but he doesn't often run into someone who seems to have a purpose in the gardens beyond just wandering around.]

Hey. [He glances at the plants around Jeyne.] What's going on?

[She wasn't familiar with Kitty's appearance or know too much of her, save for what little Robb had said. When she spies the young woman, she is noticeably surprised by her garment, but says nothing out of respect. The differences of worlds still confused her, but she didn't wish to judge.

She beckoned Kitty forward, offering out her wrist.]

Something like that. Smell. [A hint of something similar to eucalyptus would surge back at her, along with other soothing scents.] It aids those that are short of breath.

[She smiles at the familiar figure, pleased to see Dr. McCoy. They hadn't spoken since his arrival, but she remembered him well from that conversation.

She beckoned him closer, offering out the small bowl she used to mix the herbs.]

Experiments. Some of these herbs are unfamiliar to me, I thought to find the use for them.

Sure. I haven't smelled anyone's wrists all day. [She leans down taking a small sniff. If it was weaponized the woman probably wouldn't have tested it on herself. This is the thought process of someone from a far too dangerous world. Luckily, she also has the generally relaxed nature of someone who has been kidnapped by various overlords for the last few years.]

Do you have asthma?

[She laughed at the quip, not thinking that anyone might be suspicious to her offer. She was proud of her accomplishments thus far and felt a bit like showing them off.]

No, but there may be others who will have need of this. Better that we know a way to treat them before a crisis occurs.

I imagine it will be soothing as well for those who are in hysterics.

Sure, but do you want someone hysterical getting that close to you? [She's teasing. She doesn't imagine the delivery system would always be the girl's wrist.] So, are you a gardener or a doctor?

[She laughs though, despite the memory of a time when she needed it most. It was strange the twists of fate.]

I serve as a nurse on the Blue Fish. I was told by Lady Beverly that there was a garden on this ship and I thought to take the time to acquaint myself with the plants in this place.

And the Blue Fish has an abundance of of people for their lab. They really should share. [She's not actually put out by it, but she does wish the Windrose had someone with a lab augment to get their lab opened back up for strictly selfish reasons of having a place Winn might feel more comfortable when he was having insomnia on her ship so he could feel more at home when he spent time there with her.]

Share with other ships? I'm certain they would, were they to know there were others in need of aid.

[Was she being serious? She couldn't tell, but answered honestly. Given how there was no one in maintenance or communications on her ship, she could understand why others would a bit of help.]

Mmm, I have a feeling they're comfortable where they are. [Beverly and Allen have both been there a long time and Allen and Kanda are from the same world. They must be getting along this time around.]

This? The Iskaulit? It's not anyone's ship. Or it's all of ours depending on how you want to look at it. No one sleeps here. At least not officially. I'm the first mate of the Windrose.

[She buried her face into her hands, embarrassed to make that mistake. She was still acquainting herself with the various names of the ships, along with so much else. It slipped her head.]

Now that I have humiliated myself, it probably is best I tell you my name. [It would make it complete. Though she had a smile, despite it all.]

I'm Jeyne.

Don't worry about it. [She smiles.] I had no idea what was going on with this ship after I got here. They don't exactly have an instruction manual on how to be abducted here. [Other than the augment itself.]

I'm Kitty.

No, thankfully others have been so kind and have explained matters to the best of their abilities. [Given where she was from, it was a surreal experience to see others be genuinely nice.]

Kitty? [She heard the name before and finally putting the face to the name weakens her smile.] Robb's friend?

Yes? [Not questioning her friendship so much as that particular association and shift in expression.]

Not a fan of his? [Hang on.] Oh! You're Jeyne from his world.

[Which maybe said with a bit more pride and imperiousness than she would have otherwise. She would be kind to Kitty and not blame her for what transpired (as it was not her fault and nothing happened). Yet she still felt a bit jealous, something she couldn't help.

It wasn't aided by the fact that Kitty was clearly beautiful.

Right. It's good to meet you. We don't really do the my lady thing where I'm from. [Oh, Robb, what did you tell her?] He speaks highly of you.

Not many follow that custom, but I fear it is a habit I cannot yet break.

[Oh, she shouldn't have said that. He spoke of her mostly while comparing the gloriousness of their "teats".]

[Though it didn't prevent him from lusting after another woman. She doesn't want to feel anger or irritation, but her pride has been slightly bruised.

If Kitty weren't so pretty, it wouldn't trouble her as much...or so she thinks.]

My lord? [Drawing a temporary blank.] Oh! [Smiling, trying not to laugh at the thought of calling Winn "my lord".] Winn's birthday, yes. I talked to Robb about it when I saw him. I must have missed you. It was pretty crowded.

Was it truly impossible for him to stay? [She was protective of Robb and disliked him feeling that he was not welcome at any event.] I was at his side. He would not have caused any trouble.

I didn't exactly throw him out. [She might have. She thought about it. It just wasn't needed.] He seemed just as eager to leave once he knew it was for Winn.

I'd like to see them in a good place, but they aren't really there yet. Robb mentioned wanting to punch him in the face once. [Which isn't the most horrible threat all things considered, but she's not letting Winn get punched in the face.] Winn had already been drinking that night. It wasn't the best situation for it.

[Why were they fighting over this small misunderstanding? From what Robb had said, he only spoke foolishly because he was in his cups. He did not actually steal Kitt's honor.

...The thought only manages to stab him further with pain.]

Robb behaves honorably, even when in the presence of those who do not respect him. [Her first instinct is to protect Robb. She had seen him siege her family home and hold her father hostage, yet she couldn't imagine Robb do anything improper, not when he was a guest.]

Why are they so at odds? He apologized to you, did he not? He sought to make amends?

[ Hermione, with her own mini potions lab and garden on the Iskaulit, spends more time than she might be willing to admit travelling between the library and the cauldron, letting things boil and settle while she gets herself a new book to read or something to do on her communicator. It's during one of these trips that she spots someone else in the other garden and she pauses, her lips turning up into a smile. Hovering at the doorway, she pauses for a moment before she steps inside, not wanting to startle the other woman. ]

Something smells nice.
