[yup he's totally locking them order consoles, though he doesn't seem keen to change anything else about the lab.]

[an unbelievably scruffy man has decided to visit, and is ambling through the halls like he's innately familiar with the place looking for his student.

Oh... the show, you mean?

[If he's not going to sit she will, plopping down on the bed, her hands twisting together uneasily.]

I try not to think about it... it's creepy, not knowing who's watching or when. We don't even know where the cameras are. Actually, I don't think anyone has even seen the show, so... all we have is their word that there even is one.

[atta girl. she's always been quicker to pick up on things that require street smarts rather than book smarts.]

Right. Since all our contact with 'the audience' happens through the filter of our kidnappers anyway.

Even with that, we should still assume we're being constantly monitored somehow, if only, [he taps his augment bump,] theough these.

[She makes a face. Yeah, that's probably true.]

And on these, too...

[She fiddles with her communicator, turning it over between her hands.]

Somebody told me once that we shouldn't talk about trying to escape here using them. But does it really matter, if they're always watching us anyway?

It doesn't much matter at this point. There's no way they wouldn't know we'd be trying to find a way to retaliate, or a way to get back. [Aizawa sighs through his nose.] There are ways to communicate secretly even if they can see through our eyes or hear through our ears, but I'll show you later. [Honestly, he's not sure if it'll work out but even just them thinking he knows of a sure-fire way is a leg up.]

Ah, okay.

[She's not too sure of how that'll work or how he could teach her without anyone knowing about it, but he's a lot smarter than she is, so she trusts him to find a way. He's a pro, and she's seen him in action. Even if he doesn't have the power to miraculously get them out of here, she trusts him to keep them safe as long as he's here.]

Um... sensei? Nobody's noticed that I went missing back home, have they?

[It's basically confirmed that this place is some weird time-displaced mess, but she's never had it confirmed for her personally, so she has to check.]

...no. By my memory, I just saw you the day I showed up here. [which probably both is and is not a comfort.]

[Nailed it in one. She looks down, quiet for a long moment as she mentally weighs in on that, her expression shifting from surprise to unease in quick succession. She's been here for months, and yet at home she hasn't been gone a single day? What does that mean? Where, when are they? She can't even begin to parse it.

Finally she scuffs a hand under her nose and offers up a weak smile.]

Well... I'm glad nobody's worried about me, then!

[Though it also means that no one is looking for her, either. They're very much on their own here.]

Mm. It has its merits. [not that aizawa thinks he has to get into it with her right now. judging by the look on her face, uraraka knows what exactly it means.] For our part, which is the part we should concentrate on, we don't have to worry about anyone from home. We can concentrate solely on our situation here. So do your best to keep that in mind, all right?

[Easier said than done, bossman. Ochako hesitates, looking like she might say as much, but after a moment she nods meekly. Aizawa's much smarter than she is, and he's been through far more than she can even imagine; there's plenty he must already understand about this place that she has yet to consider. He's not saying it'll be easy, she just has to do as he said- try her best.

It'll be tough, but she can give him that much.]

[he better not get sent anywhere before she does. she's still left here alone and he vanishes...]

Good. [aizawa hesitates, then pushes off of her doorframe.] I need to get back to my ship. There'll be a few things I'll need to get in order to transfer.

Right...

[She's a little bit reluctant - it's hard to let go of familiarity now that she has it again - but she steels herself and nods before she lets herself complain. She did say she'd try, and he'll come back to stay before she knows it. That's plenty.]

I'll tell the Miss Carter that it's okay. She'll probably grill you for intel, but she's really nice, I promise!

[Just. Super strict.]

I ran into her once already. I'll find her again before I go. [because while aizawa plans to put in the transfer request no matter what, having her aware and abreast the situation beforehand will put him in good graces. always better to be on someone's good side than not.]
