Welcome to my one-year anniversary. [Pause as she realizes maybe she should clarify that. Not a relationship thing.] Of being with the Fleet. Feels like it should come with a badge of some kind. Who hands those out? We're in a special club now, right? Secret handshake? Extra meal portions?

Anyway, I figured it was maybe time to try something different. So... Raise your hand if you'd be interested in attending a dance class if I taught one. And by raise your hand I mean call me back. I don't have surveillance set up in all the rooms yet. [She's kidding. She's probably kidding.] If anyone is in I'll set up a room for it on the Iskaulit. [Or maybe find the secret studio the previous Natasha had.]

[Kitty is poking around some of the empty spaces on the Iskaulit, but she might pop into some of the more established establishments too while she's there.]

[ affectionate eye roll at that innuendo. but he keeps smiling, and softens as she continues. ]

I want to make you proud. [ my boyfriend the it guy, it just doesn't sound very braggable. ]

You always have. [She's never seen him as just an IT guy and even then...there is something almost fantastical about that life too. A little bit of normalcy while still making a living working with computers? Even if mutants and Apocalypse had never been a thing back home she may have reached further than that, but it doesn't sound awful. Oh, she'd get bored, but she doesn't have to think about those kinds of realities when thinking of a life she'll never lead.]

And I'm really happy for you. Beyond deserved.

[ take it from someone who's lived it - it's boring. yeah, it was relaxed and easy; he got to leave his desk to help kara with no consequences, and even play video games at work. but it's also mind numbing, he was never going to learn and evolve there, there was no room for personal growth, not really, and he was never going to matter. the kind of work he did at catco, countless people can do, he won't be missed. the kind of work he can do in the deo?

Thanks. Um, I'm sure you wanna go see Kara - [ that's enough celebrating a glory he hasn't experienced yet, what if he's not actually as good or important there as he thinks? what if those memory downloads are false? ]

Sure. [Nuzzling and then taking his hand.] So, what'd you get me for my anniversary? [So completely kidding.]

Do you take IOUs? [ kissing her cheek, he's been swamped. ]

Absolutely not. I'm still swimming in holiday and second birthday gifts. Happy Winn is my favorite thing anyway.

There's also getting more noticeably defined from working out Winn. [Brushing a hand down his side. She noticed.]

[ he grins at that, he doesn't really get to show that off much, but damn is he happy about it. he's been waiting for her to say something. ]

Don't thank Jim, the last thing he needs is encouragement.

And for the record as hot as it is, you have always been beautiful and sexy to me. [She doesn't want him to feel like it's something he has to maintain for her. She wants it to be for him.]

[ he stops because this woman needs kissing. ]

Have I told you how much I love you today? [ he could make a joke, but he's emotional happy winn. ]

[She kisses him back, always happy to make out with her man in the halls of any ship they happen to be on together.] You did. I won't stop you if you want to tell me again. [It's pretty great. There's been something kind of heavy over the fleet since the attack and it's been feeling lighter and Kara waking up definitely gave Winn a boost which helps her out too. Not that she isn't also happy to see Kara of course!]

That is the most intense thing you've ever said to me. [Kissing back and while she's a little silly about it she knows how deeply he loves tech. How it's the sort of thing that saved him when he was alone. It was something he excelled at. Something that couldn't tease or abandon him which prompts a confession from her.] I... You're the one who woke my heart back up when it didn't think it was going to love again.

[ that's why it's the best way he can think of to make her see just how much he loves her.

how can he not kiss her when she says stuff like that? no, really, how? he leans his forehead against hers gently. ]

I don't know what I did, but I'm grateful I did it.

[Definitely so much kissing back until she feels dizzy whether it's from lack of air or abundance of Winn.] You were just you. Sweet and generous and you treat me like someone you love. Someone who deserves good things. And you're funny, smart, sexy. You just fit.

[ she leaves him breathless, but still he speaks. ] You deserve the best things, Kitty. You make me wanna be a better man, so maybe someday I could deserve you.

[Hugging him closer.] Didn't I just get done saying you're the perfect man for me right now?

You don't see you like I do.

[ stroking her hair, he knows he's far from perfect, but that's not even the point. even if he were, he'd think kitty deserves more. ]

You don't see you like I do either. See how well we work together? [Smiling softly.]

Can't argue with that logic.

[Kissing back. They are both terrible at seeing Kara.]

Maybe the Windrose tonight so no one hears anything they don't want to hear? [Because she's in the mood.]

[ he nods, they've been sleeping on the tourist while kara was out, even if they spend most of the day on the windrose and only head back right before bedtime. it's back to normal now that she's up. ]

Good thinking, Kara could probably use a quiet night.
