[The fleet, more or less patched up after their battle, has once again left civilization behind for empty space. Maybe it's a good time to distract yourself and get away from the endless repairs and nothingness, though there might still be cleaning up that needs to be done here too.

Whether you're grabbing a broom or grabbing a drink, this is a fleetwide mingle for the Iskaulit.]

[Natasha follows him, her attention on him but relaxed as she runs through opening moves, possible counter moves, so on and so forth. She remembers his "lessons" with the younger her, their actual fights. Surprise had been her advantage then, what she learned she needed. But hard to get that when he knew what was coming.

Looked like she would just have to find a way to win in a fair fight.]

Ready?

[That's his only warning before Natasha launches into an attack, going as hard and fast as she can as she goes for his knee. She'd gone high before. Why not switch it up?]

[ She sweeps in low, which is definitely a change. In all their other interactions, she's gone right for the shoulders, trying to catch him off balance. He allows her to catch his knee, causing it to buckle, and retaliates by wrapping his arms around her.

Maybe he can't throw her, but if he's going down, so is she. ]

[Letting him get a grip on her would be a good way to lose quickly. Natasha keeps moving, twisting and squirming. She had anticipated he might do this. Not the first response she expected—that had been a block, one she could follow up by trying to slip inside his guard and deliver a couple of short punches to the ribs&mash;but she's ready for this as well.

She drops her weight with him, rather than let him drag her down, tries to drive a knee into his side. Her movements are efficient, one always leading into the next, every action serving at least two purposes because when you have disadvantages in size and strength, you can't afford not to waste energy.]

[ That knee drives into his side and he lets out a grunt, but doesn't phase him. He expects nothing less than a hard-fought match between them, and her opening moves show that it will be.

He sends an elbow down so that he can gain enough leverage to get properly to his feet. Even if he can't, he could drop to the ground and roll out of range. ]

[Natasha isn't inclined to let him get up or get away. He's got the advantage of strength either way, but if he puts some room between them he'll have the advantage of reach as well. So she stays in close and tries to keep him from getting his feet back.

There's only so much she can do, though, and he can roll away if he tries. At that point, Natasha's lost her surprise.]
