While Hank has always been the type to be quiet and neutral when he's working on something, today's a little different. It starts out with him tapping a nonsense beat on the countertop with his pen, and when afternoon hits it becomes him humming the same tune as he moves around, checking one thing and updating his notes as he goes. You might even catch a few song lyrics, though unless you're familiar with 80s music, well, you may or may not recognize it.
Oddest of all, though, is that the lab door is kept open all day. Usually he closes it when he's using chemicals, but today? Nope, everyone's welcome.
After lunch, he moves to work off some excess energy in the cargo bay on the punching bag - both properly and upside down. Because why not?]

[he pokes his head in and gives Hank a happy little wave]
Hard at work, huh? I think that earns you a high five.
[FINGER GUNS!! someone plz stop him]
no subject
I'm always hard at work. I think this is the first time I've earned a high five because of it.
no subject
Really? That's a shame. You'd think people would be more willing to go around and give hard workers high fives, huh?
[why. . . though. . . Kaito?? what is that logic???]
no subject
I get high fives from my students sometimes? Does that count?
no subject
I guess so. A high five is a high five; no use getting all particular about 'em.
no subject
[highfives are a new thing, okay, he doesn't get them all the time, let alone understand the particulars about them]
What brings you in here? Surely it isn't just for a high five.
no subject
And if I said it was just for a high five?
[it wasn't]
Honesty, I was just taking a look around. I had a pretty good lunch and wanted to brag about it, heh.
no subject
[well surely he must have ate somewhere else and not on the ship] What'd you have?
no subject
[has anyone ever said those words in a more cheerful manner all at once? what the fuck]
no subject
I find it very hard to believe they were that good.
no subject
[why is he being so weird]
no subject
And that works on a crappy ship food?
[he has DOUBTS]

Good afternoon. You're happy.
no subject
'Afternoon. You seem like you're happy too.

[ Or maybe she's just happy that she has her fiance and her brother and her best friend and things are great!! And she's just had a good fight and nothing seems to be going wrong and, oh, also, Hank is giving her kisses, that's nice too. ]
Are you working on something...?
no subject
[were he not in such a good mood himself, he'd be suspicious of it all. But how can he be suspicious with her smiling at him like that and close enough to kiss]
Mm, nothing I can't set aside.
no subject
[ And, of course, all she does now is move to slide onto his lap, beaming up at him. Hello, fiance, nice to see you up close again. ]
You could keep working if it was important, you know.
no subject
[or they infected each other, who knows. He shifts so she can sit down on him, grinning wider. It was only a matter of time until he took his rightful spot as her chair]
If it was important I'd keep working. [he kisses her nose] But it's not.
no subject
Maybe we infected each other.
[ Gross, that's gross, how sappy? She's not really down for that but she can't find any reason to argue about it right now, not when she can lean close and just be content and pleased with the fact that she's wrapped up in her fiancé. ]
I can ask you how your day has been, then.
no subject
[this is too sappy, viewers beware. He wraps his arms around her and hugs her close as she settles, content to have her there]
It's even better now.
[see? Sap]
no subject
Look at you, you big softie.
[ And then she kisses him properly. ]
Can I steal you for a cuddle?
no subject
I'm a big softie now?
[any false offense is immediately gone thanks to the kiss, and he hums]
I think you can.
no subject
[ Standing up, Raven takes both of his hands in hers and grins. ]
Come on. Walk with me.
no subject
[he lets her take his hands and gets to his feet, matching her grin]
Where are we going?
[like he doesn't know]
