Helloooo fellow passengers. Wait, no, that was really cheesy. Anyway. Hi! I'm back in the land of the waking, so to speak, and it looks like I missed my first Fleet Birthday, which would be more of a bummer if I wasn't, you know, being held here indefinitely. Anyway! Hi! I missed everyone, so fill me in on your lives! What's been going on? I heard there was some pretty tense moments there for a little while but we don't have to talk about that if you don't want to. Or we can! Just, whatever you feel like.

Oh, and Cisco I need to talk to you. Not in a scary way I promise! Just in a normal... friend way?

I'm not the biggest fan. I'd rather be back there living my life, but I feel even more resolved to figure out how to get us out of here.

Oh, futz. [ kate stands there -- jaw a little slack for a moment but! ] That's...great, right? That's a good thing? I mean -- the sickness isn't. And pretending like it never happened probably isn't either. But kisses are awesome and Mon-El is, like, the definition of salty goodness and...

-- Shit. Full disclosure? I've been flirting up a storm with him. But that will stop, like, right now. You have my word.

[ friends don't flirt with a friend's boy toy. it's possible she's misunderstood the lay of the land, here. ]

I'm not interested in him so do whatever you're going to do. He's a self-centered party boy who has an advanced degree in "getting on my nerves". We are like so not compatible, okay.

[ maybe this was a bit of a strong, flustered reply ]

[ -- huh. well, far be it from her to argue with someone over their own feelings. but kate is eager to make sure everything is clear and above board.

Well, I don't know about regret. It's just weird.

Why is it weird? [ kate curls loose hair behind her ear and takes a seat beside kara. ]

Because he says he doesn't remember it. Mostly because he's him and I'm me. Maybe he was feverish and thought I was someone else.

Or maybe he gets that you're not interested and he'd rather pretend it never happened than make it weirder than it already is. [ awkward? certainly. but in a strange way, it's almost sweet. ] Sounds like either he's chickening out or he's trying to protect you. And Mon-El doesn't strike me as the chicken-y type.

[ more like balls-to-the-wall bold. kate kinda likes that about him. it's admirable. ]

Well, it's already weird. And listen, he does have potential to be a great person. If he applies himself at any point in time. But I have so many other things to worry about, here and at home.

Now. That I get. [ kate's mostly there for the fun flirtation and the excellent dancing -- anything beyond a bit of a dalliance? and she knows she's in precisely the same boat as supergirl. so much to do; so little time. ] Not all distractions are worth it, despite what the fleet's handful of lovebirds will try to tell you.

[ still. ] Besides, it's not like you can make feelings appear just outta nowhere. If you're not into him? You're not into him. End of story.

Yeah. I'm kind of still recovering from everything with James.

We didn't go on a date after we told each other we liked one another. I just wasn't feeling it and we're better as friends.

Wait. Like. James -- the guy you've been pining for? [ man things are getting complicated. kate frowns. ] I'm sorry it didn't work out, hun.

The same one. We kissed, I saved the world, we decided to go on a date... and I kept rescheduling. Things are just always coming up, you know! A shuttle explosion here, a bank robbery there, criminals getting access to alien technology...

But if I had really wanted it, I would've made time. If anyone can do it, it's me.

I get it. I really get it. [ she drapes a long arm around kara's shoulder and pulls her into a half-hug. ] It probably wasn't an easy call to make.
