Iron Chef Goes Intergalatic - A Mingle!
Who: Jim Kirk, Misty Day, and You!
Broadcast: No
Action: On the ring, at a designated restaurant/pub
When: Today!
[ Text - Fleet Wide ]
Come one, come all - to the greatest cooking show down you've ever seen!
Jim Kirk vs. Misty Day! Who can make the tastier snack? Who can capture your taste buds and move your soul?
Bring your appetites to XXX on XXXX and cast your vote in this battle of North vs. South!!
[ Action - Day of the Contest! ]
[ Their hosts were a generous folk, and given the chance to try new foods crafted from their own local ingredients, well, their curiosity was more that piqued. Tables had been set up, with plenty of cushions to go around, and the small restaurant had given over its kitchen and cooking materials to Kirk and Misty. Everyone was welcome to come and go as they pleased (the food was free and the drinks were set at a discounted price for the event from the restaurant itself), but before leaving were requested to make their selection on who had served the better meal by placing slips of colored paper paper into a box - Red for Kirk and Blue for Misty. At one point there was even a small group of musicians adding atmosphere and enough room to dance near the back of the out door space.
The winner would be announced at the end of the day, with the paper slips counted by one of their new alien friends - to keep things proper and fair, of course. ]
[ ooc: As it says in the header, this is a mingle! So feel free to put up your own starters, etc. There will be a special comments section for casting your vote for whom you want to win this contest - just simply put Misty or Kirk in the header (and maybe a cheeky comment if your character is one to write those). Have fun! ]

Today his sleeves are rolled up and he wore a clean white apron at his station, making his specialty - breakfast foods.
Kirk is busy whipping up everything from scrambled eggs and omelettes to pancakes and sausages (or as close as he can get given the ingredients available, but they all mimic familiar flavors enough to make it work). His is not the cleanest of work stations and his presentation would make Gordon Ramsey shout obscenities until he burst a blood vessel, but there's a warmth to everything he serves, like he's serving you at his personal breakfast table.
He's on obvious home cook amateur, but hey! At least he's having fun and hopefully people are enjoying what he makes, especially as he serves everyone with a smile. ]

He might eat food that's put in front of him, but he's no connoisseur. Plus he's rather biased, all things considered. Still, he watches Kirk with some level of amusement. ]
At least you're enjoying yourself.

He approves of your loyalty, Fenris. It's very sweet. He flipped a pancake with more flare than skill, chuckling. ]
I'll have a short stack ready for you in a second. Trust me, looks aren't everything in food.
no subject
True, but I doubt I have a refined enough palette to honestly notice.
[Food is food. ]

But you can tell what's good and not. That's good enough for me.
[ He put down a plate and slid on three pancakes and some sausage, holding it out to Fenris. ]
You can put syrup on it or some fruit, or both. Whatever suits your fancy.

[He considers this, before putting some syrup on the pancakes. He cuts them up and pops it into his mouth, chewing thoughtfully. Then, silently (because he's just going to continue eating if you don't mind him) he'll raise a single thumb. ]

Misty
So, today she's got two dishes for you to choose from. On one side is a big ol' pot of jambalaya, made with smoked sandbird sausages and a nice splash of that hotter than hot hot sauce she found in Stefan's kitchen. On the other, are Natchitoches meat pies, stuffed with spiced zubron meat and served with a side of beans and rice, if you like. Or you can just eat one wrapped up in some paper, like you would get from a food truck. Then, of course, for dessert, there's some classic beignets dusted in plenty of powdered sugar.]
