I do not honestly know - and I ... that disturbs me. But to not know where they are, that they could threaten all I have built here, all the people I love? It is driving me slightly ... towards the paranoid side of madness.

How easy would it be for anyone to attack an unsuspecting Winn or to leave something poisoned or explosive around? People feel safe on the fleet and feeling safe can get you killed, but when madness is being referenced she figures err on the side of optimism.]

[Tyrion shuddered for a moment - biting back the words you don't know them -- because if there was one person here who could possibly understand ... it was Kitty.]

...I just. I wish I could put some sort of shield, in front of all of you. Yet the kind of shield it would have to be would be many-layered. From physical harm, from emotional abuse, from everything my sister and brother ever laid at my doorstep. I know that to be impossible -- so fear and rage battle within me.

We'll keep each other safe. And I'll help with anyone else you're worried about. [She'll get the X-Men and the Avengers involved if needed, but that sounds like overkill to her right now.]

... Thank you, Kitty. You are the best friend I could have asked for. [He gives her a lopsided smile.]

I don't know about that. I could imagine some pretty good friends to ask for that would be way better than me. [Gives him a soft, but warm smile in return.]

Oh yes, absolutely. I could have had Bronn here. He bathes less, and I would have to pay him. [But that lopsided smile remains, because despite it all? Bronn is a very good friend.] He named his son after me.

Well, I haven't had any children so you can't definitely know I wouldn't name them after you. That doesn't seem fair.

If you name yours and Winn's first child after me - then I'll know you are my best friend for life.

Imagine if she's a girl named Tyrion. That's devotion.

At that point my greatest friend could only be you.

Well, duh. [Little smile.] For what it's worth I'd like to believe in a world where Winn and I can have children someday and you and I become are very old, very sassy friends together and none of us have to worry about ghosts from our pasts showing up anymore.

You know, I would absolutely love that to be our future. Especially the part where we get to be old, and sassy.

Right? Never expected an "old" was in the cards for me. [And technically it wasn't, but here she is, two years older than she was when she died.] Still might not be, but I can't say with any certainty anymore. Guessing you weren't expecting much better.

Me either, come to think of it. I should have been murdered at least three times by now. [He muses on that.] We truly are defying the odds.
