So, it's been a few days so I figured maybe all the communications officers from the ships- maybe we should get together and talk? We should definitely think of how to make this more efficient. Set some ground rules or something? Mostly just to lower the risk to us and them. I know a lot of you have been here much longer than I have so maybe some of you so obviously I don't have a lot of influence with any of you, so no one is forcing anyone.

I'll be in the library on the Iskaulit, probably for most of the day.

Magic. All mages have the ability, so long as I've seen where I'm going, I can teleport right over in a few moments.

[He'd demonstrate but he doesn't want to risk missing anyone else that might come to brainstorm the Interceptor fleet communications.]

[ Ah, magic, of course. ]

I'm surprised the Atroma allowed that.

I can't get back to the Marsiva, but it seems like none of my magic was really affected. Not that I've been able to tell yet, anyway.

Interesting. I would have assumed that powers like teleportation would have limitations.

[ Now he wonders if Kurt can transport himself onto different ships. Charles has never asked. ]

I mean, it seems like it is. I've never not been able to teleport somewhere, regardless of distance.

[Okay he probably couldn't teleport to Draenor for example but that's not the point.]

No, but it's surprising that the Atroma would allow that kind of free access. My powers are limited on the ships after all.

I guess they don't see much threat in magic? Or at least mine, teleporting isn't much different than using the shuttles really. Just faster.

That's a fair point.

I'm a powerful telepath. I can read minds.

That's amazing. I'm not sure anyone, mage or priest or anyone, can do that where I come from. Not even the Archmages.

[ Charles blinks, surprised. ]

Oh. Yes. It can be unusual to find.

[Is that surprise at Khadgar thinking it's amazing or that Azeroth doesn't really have telepaths?]

I would love to find out if anyone on my world can do that. Someday.

I'm sure with the right magical spells, it can be accomplished. I know someone who has magic and speaks to plants. I can do basic telepathy with animals as well.

Maybe, I hope I'll remember to ask Antonidas if I ever get home. And unfortunately, the best we can do with animals, that I know, is polymorphing. And that only lasts so long and on the simple-minded.

[ He's not familiar with the term. ]

We can turn someone into an animal. It helps a lot. Sometimes. [Like breaking Lothar out of his cell. Perfectly good reason at the time, really.] But, ah, I can only turn people into sheep for now.

[ His lips curve in good humour and it doesn't seem like Charles is judging heavily. ]

Why only sheep?

It's all I learned. I abandoned my training so I'm mostly teaching myself these days. I'm sure I'll learn other animals eventually, I've got a few years in me still.

[At least there's no judgement, Khadgar relaxes.]

Turning into animals is a skill I haven't seen many people have. I possess another form but my sister can transform into any person.

[ The other Mystique could change into animals. She wasn't Charles' sister, though in his heart, he loved her dearly. ]

I think there's a form of magic that allows someone to turn into an animal but it's nothing I ever specialized in. Maybe if I'd stayed in Dalaran but who knows now.

And- does she use magic? Or is it just something you guys can do?

[ He shakes his head. ]

None of us have magic. Well . . . I suppose I do, in a strange way. But we're mutants. We are born with our powers.

Mutants? [That's an awful word.] Not so different then, mages are born like this too.

With magic, yes, but not necessarily unique abilities or physical characteristics, correct?

No, we learn those once we're, I guess recognized, as mages. We're the only ones that can draw on mana though. No one else can.

Mutant abilities are unique. Some people might be similar to myself, but not quite the same.

That just amazing, really. [Okay, he has to ask.] I apologize if this seems rude but... 'mutant?'
