Hi! Wow, this is so great, isn't this just fascinating? And these augments, they put information into your brain, does that mean they cracked the code of how to create specific impulses and connections between your neurons? It's amazing, I wish I could take it out and poke at it.

I wonder if it's electrically or chemically based.

Oh! Right, I completely forgot, hiiii! I'm new around here, and I just got so distracted by all this new information in my head and this new place we're in! I really should go home if I can, I know, but think of the learning opportunities!

[ Honey looks up from her communicator and takes her glasses off so she can swipe at her tears, smiling. It's... a surprisingly bright smile for someone crying as hard as she is. ]

O-oh! I'm sorry, I didn't-- yes, everything's fine, I--

[ She stops when she gets a text notification, quickly reads it and responds, and looks back up at O'danya ]

A friend of mine is here. I friend I... I lost. Back home. It's just really... really good to get to talk to him again.

[ She smiles softly in return at seeing the tears are not because of some unseen distress. Her head tips to the side in curiosity, obvious and bright, no matter how inappropriate it is. ]

A friend? Special to you, perhaps?

He... Tadashi was my best friend, I love all my friends so much, but I think if anyone was my best friend, it was him. He... we lost him, a few months ago. [ she still can't quite say "he died" ] It was really hard on us, especially his brother.

[ she misses the implication in her question, though... it may be a little true. Honey wouldn't admit it, not to her or Tadashi or anyone, but it was maybe a little true that Tadashi was special to her.

That was never as important as just being his friend, though. ]

[ As the idea begins to settle, Danya realizes there's more to this than simply reuniting. Those words are not used for someone you've simply parted with no matter how long ago. Her expression turns grave, though the curiosity is still present. ]

I don't think everyone from the same world is from the same... time? So it's not so much that he's back as we get to see him again, for a while, until we get sent back.

[ she grimaces a little ]

Which is not something I'm looking forward to.

[ It says so much about her life that she hardly blinks at the idea of someone fucking around with time now. Because of course they are. That's still less weird than a world without all the five races. ]

Though maybe after we've improved the kitchen a bit first...

That may take some time yet... [ She considers, then an idea comes to her. ] If nothing else, perhaps we could see to borrow some other crew's facilities!

[ Because obviously SOMEONE has to have a decent kitchen here, right???? ]

Good plan! There's got to be somebody with a better kitchen who would be willing to loan it out to us for an afternoon, don't you think? Especially if we promise to clean up after ourselves.

[ Her eyes are still a little red, but she has officially been distracted from her Very Complicated Feelings ]

[ That's what O'danya is here for! That and stopping entire war efforts or destroying ancient superweapons. But also for being a cool chick in general. ]

If we promised to clean it up and donate any extra... experiments we may end up making. With the state of things as they are, who wouldn't love free food of more than passing quality?

Very few people, I'd say. I'll go poking around for a willing crew tomorrow, probably.

[ Honey quickly waves her off ]

No no no, not at all! You will be totally welcome to come when we plan our grand cooking endeavor!

[ Oh, good. She looks relieved because she is. That question was the culmination of all her social graces, she isn't going to fight past that perfunctory offer. ]

Then we'll need to find somewhere not only properly stocked, but large enough for four people to work comfortably!

Hmmmmmm....

[ Honey purses her lips and taps them with one finger ]

I heard something about a planet we can go to? Maybe we can find a kitchen to use there. Because it occurs to me that four people in one little spaceship kitchen is probably just asking for someone to catch fire.

That would be the wisest course of action. If a fire were to break out, however, be at peace with the knowledge that I am more than capable of stopping it cold before it might spread.

[ She means that literally. Blizzard totally works on kitchen fires. What are you talking about, that's definitely not overkill. ]

A planet sounds lovely. Already I miss the fresh air.
