[Vash floats near the water temple. Having heard of there being a treasure possibly from home inside. It was an interesting prospect.

Having not even thought to ask if anyone wanted to join him on this dangerous adventure he hesitates a bit as he wonders how risky this might be.

Then he starts forward. He's Vash the Stampede! How dangerous can one temple be? He'll probably survive just fine!

Probably...

Of course, having two guardian angels who looks suspiciously like a pirate navigator and a American hunter would probably greatly up his chances at survival.]

Also, I'd be careful raising your voice in here, when the trials start.

Might be traps that could catch things like vibrations.

[Vash watches how the two swim carefully and tries to copy them. It's not perfect, but he's getting better.]

Let's see. This is how many days since we landed here? Ooh, about my fourth time.

And vibrations? Does that still work when we're underwater? I mean, how bad could these traps really be anyway?

[He's a fast learner. Nami figured this. She might be tsun about it, but she'll be obvious about her movements so he can learn, at least.]

Well, I guess if you're going to learn to swim, a planet where you can breathe underwater is the safest course. And don't get me started on traps in these places. This is my second visit. It's probably not the traps that are gonna get you.

Monsters summoned by said traps. Some of them really like the colour orange, just so you know.

Yeah, I'd rather not run into any monsters. Or traps. Or anything overly dangerous. Sounds scary.

But I don't think we can avoid orange. I mean, Nami's hair is a nice shade of it. I guess we're lucky she cut it recently if they're attracted... to... the... color... ora--ooooh. Ah. Um--

ANYWAY!!! So you can count on me! Mr. Stealthy! They'll never see me coming! I'm basically part cat with how silent I can be! Sneaky too! Just suddenly behind you and you'd never know how I got there! Everyone on my ship could tell you how silently I move through the ship! Almost like a ghost even! [Imagine that. Even under water you can really sense the temperature dropping all around them as Vash stumbles around the orange fiasco. And as he rambles on, she glances back at Sam with raised eyebrows.





......gonna let you ramble on a while there Vash, but eventually there's this drawled:] So anyway.

[Because here they are at the first door. She knows what kind of traps are in this thing, and to be fair she reaches out and pushes the door open with pressure on the right part of the door. Only to find--

[Sigh. Sam lets Vash ramble on as well, as he pays attention to the door instead.

[Vash doesn't seem to mind being ignored. It's the best strategy to take anyway against it. Although he stops instantly once Nami mentions the floor.

His eyes quickly scan the room. To be fair, he was looking during his ramblings as well, but now he's gotten more serious as now his guide can't tell them for sure what to expect.]

Wait. [He squints. Still getting use to the slight blur looking through water adds to his vision.]

There. Do you see it? [He points at a near invisible wire just inside the doorway.] Pretty sure that's a trip wire. Probably not a good idea to swim too close. They usually don't lead to good things when they break.

...yeah, that definitely wasn't there before. [Also, making a note: Vash has good eyes. She can barely see that and he pointed the damn thing out. Squint.]

Agreed. Is that the only one?

[A+ Vash, good lad. He looks around the area, squinting through the water.]

I'm betting that's the way we need to go, actually. If there aren't traps, there aren't treasures. I wonder how far the range is for setting it off.

[Maybe setting it off from a distance, is what he's thinking.]

I would say as far back as you can shoot it, but guns don't exactly work underwater. [At least not most weapons Vash is use to. He hadn't felt the need to test an electronic laser one underwater for some reason.] Unless you guys know a better way to throw something a fair distance under water? [He's been no good at throwing very far since coming to this planet. He's also no expert at water so he's happy to bow to their knowledge.]

There's one more on the other side of the room. Do you think we could get past them without breaking them?

I can break them both from out here with some relative safety.

I'm not so concerned about our ability to get past them as our ability to get past them on the way back if we happen to be in a big hurry.

Would be kind of a bummer to get blown up just when we've got what we needed.

[Also the dying thing. But Sam is used to the danger, as we all are.

So, y'know. Whatever.]

And if you do break them and the traps launch — or something's released that wants to eat us — we have a way bigger chance of escape over here than in there, right now.

If you have a way to break it from a distance? Then by all means, break away! I always like the idea of having a safe and quick escape route in case one is needed.

Okay. In that case, you guys might want to back right up.

[Both because she's not sure what's going to happen in this place if she introduces highly pressurised air, and in case of traps. She unhooks one piece of the climatact from its holster.

ASSUMING YOU'RE BOTH VERY SMART PEOPLE and even if you don't (she tried to warn you), Nami's going to lean around the edge of the doorway and throw a gust sword into the room. It's cutting wind capable of downing monstrous fishmen, it's gonna snap those tripwires with minimal effort, especially when it slams water across them, too.]

[Sam's just gonna paddle off while you do all that.

Vash, you gonna come hide behind this pillar over here, or???]

[Oh hell yes he's getting out of the way. He's learned working for her that when Nami tells you to move, you move! He swims as quickly as he can to follow Sam behind the pillar.]

Go Nami! Show that wire who's boss!

[He ducks back behind when he sees Nami wind up. He doesn't need to see as he can hear the gust of wind that blows through the room. He can also feel the backlash of the water as it's pushed forward and back as the sudden new rush of air displaces it.

Then there's the thumping, crashing, and smashing sounds that comes from the room. Once Vash peers around again when the noise stops the room is nearly unrecognizable. Ancient rocks fill the room. Thrown about by the wind and having fallen from the ceiling. Luckily enough still enough room to get in and move onto the next challenge.]

Yeah, I think I'm pretty glad we didn't get crushed under all of that.

Sam sighs, Which is really just a small current from his mouth, right. Then he starts swimming before the two of them, eager to find what's inside -- and of course, being the first on the chopping block in case something goes hideously wrong.]

Hope nothing alive is in here. I deal with that enough back home.

[As put out as Vash looks at Nami's suggestion that he goes first Vash was still moving to go first. That was until Sam started moving to be the first at the door. Just not being as good of a swimmer he doesn't even make any real attempt to be in front.]

Why do I have to go first? That's not fair! [Doesn't mean he's not going to complain about it even with Sam clearly beating him to the door. Or originally willing and wanting to go first.]

I hope not either. I'd really rather not have to deal with that. [From what he's heard about Sam he's a "Hunter" and considering how most people disagree with his no killing policy? He doubts very much he and Sam will agree. He also heavily doubts Nami will side with him either and that weapon of hers is not one he'd look forward to trying to find a way to counter.]
