You don't annoy me. I have two brothers, it's hard to annoy me, but I'm twenty-one. I actually only got promoted because Ben pulled some strings for me to skip the last of my training. After all "what could you learn in the next few months that you haven't learned in the last three hundred years."

This seems like a legitimate reason to skip some of your training. Were you never an ensign?

I was, while I was training on the Destiny. Since it was all I had left before graduating the academy. I guess being counselor on DS9 and being a Dax was enough for that much of a promotion.
