[ It has been a long time since Steve Rogers has done one of these little network announcements, seven months, if you want to be specific about it. Some things have changed, others haven't. He still looks awkward about addressing a whole lot of people at once for something that isn't an emergency. The uniform is gone, however, replaced by a simple blue t-shirt and jeans and the shield is nowhere in sight.

He seems to have spread many sheets of paper all over the Starstruck's kitchen. Some feature tables of dates - undoubtedly a calendar in the making and others feature, well, drawings; each sheet contains one scenery. They would strike some people as rather familiar, a hand-holding tree, a sandy beach, the market of the tri-fraction system with people wearing clothes in various colors, the woods of the Lagan system, the Nebula lights and lastly, the mountains of Siourew and the Co’kal. ]

I meant to finish a few calendars by New Year's Eve but it seems I'm behind on my deadline.

[ To say the very least. He rubs his chin, there's a beginning of a stubble there. How many days has he devoted to this as of late? it's hard to tell. ]

I'm not going to write years on 'em, since it's different for all of us but I thought it might be a nice way to keep up with dates and holidays.

[ He frowns and confesses, ]

I feel like I've left some things out - and some of you have seen planets I haven't been around to see for myself. I figured I'd ask - if you have the time, you can describe some of them to me and I'll add them to the calendar. It can be anything you liked on any of the planets we've been to.

[ and, okay, fine - ]

I could use a description of where we're currently docked, too.

[ How can a person so big can seem so awkward? ]

[ tenderly, she cups his cheek in her palm. ]

[ dramatically, he sighs, ]

You know I'm not too sure about that. There's research about interrupting schedules and changing those patterns.

[ which is mostly an acceptance of those terms, reluctant as he may be. ]

[mucked]

Oh, bollocks. You survived the mother of all schedule interruptions already. [ she has no pity for you, steve, and your pattern of getting her way every morning. ]

[uprightness]

Yes, should never put a person into so many of them, you know.

[ think of his health! ]

One week and then things go back to normal.

[ grumbling. this is the Worst. ]

[mucked]

Chin up. [ she tucks a crooked finger beneath his jaw. ] You haven't lost yet.

[uprightness]

I'm not going to, either.

[ especially not now, dear god, can you imagine? the very thought is absolutely terrible. ]

Besides.

[ his tone gets a little daring edge to it, as if he's working out the nerve for the next statement. ]

You'll miss them.

[mucked]

Is that so? [ a furrow of her brow; she appreciates, however quietly, the verve and spirit to this line of challenge. ] Are you that convinced it your own allure, Captain?

[uprightness]

Not so much my allure as much as your determination.

[ he tugs her closer, humming pleasantly at the proximity. ]

If you didn't approve I'd be out your door weeks ago. And if that's the case, you'd miss them. Are you really sure you wanna do that?

[mucked]

-- You don't think it's possible that I'm merely being kind and humouring you each morning?

[ there's no way she can say it with a straight face. ]

[uprightness]

Every each morning?

[ the kiss he presses to the left edge of her lips dissolves into laughter. ]

Not a chance.

[mucked]

Perhaps it isn't so bad. [ each and every morning. peggy turns her head -- dodging his kiss so she can continue to look him square in the eye. ] I'm getting used to it.

[uprightness]

You mean to say it's growing on you.

[ he dares correct her once again if only because he suspects it's true. ]

[mucked]

-- In the way a callous does, certainly.

[ and he is her morning callous. inevitable, gained over time, and through frequent contact. ]

[uprightness]

That so.

[ he watches her for a moment, runs a hand up and down her back. ]

Dunno. I think that without any argument about it, your mornings might get boring.

[mucked]

[ -- oh, but that's a pleasant distraction. peggy's shoulders roll. she half-smiles. ]

Trying to sell it as some sort of service? A favour?

[uprightness]

I'd be a terrible roommate if I didn't do anything for you. The least I can do is keep your mornings interesting.

[ with endless little battles and endless affection. ]

[mucked]

Oh, I think you're a little more than a mere roommate.

[uprightness]

[ indulgent, he allows himself to ask her, ]

What's the term for someone who's a little more than a roommate?

[mucked]

You ought to tell me. [ she throws it back on him. ] You're the one living through the modern era, with all manner of slack found in social customs.

[uprightness]

It may shock you to find out that most of the people I know haven't really reached that stage yet.

[ avengers and personal issues. ]

[mucked]

No -- I suppose neither of many of my colleagues. Mister Jarvis's happy marriage being the exception. [ although! ] The Chief at the Los Angeles office did just ask his sweetheart to marry him. I imagine they'll be very happy together.

[ -- she doesn't expect it but talking about daniel sousa isn't quite as awkward as she thought it might be. not least of all because of the context. it's easier to distance herself from those feelings when she thinks about daniel's new-found happiness. ]

[uprightness]

I think Thor would call me your courtier. Or swain - or suitor.

[ or anything just as terribly fancy ]

[mucked]

Suitor! [ a shake of her head. ] Makes it sound as though you're still in pursuit.

[uprightness]

I am, aren't I?

[ his intent is made clear a second later. He was denied a kiss earlier; he's quickly sweeping down for it now. ]
