[The source of the toxins has been discovered to be coming from the Depths that were previously sealed off. The Dasioe, desperate for aid, has agreed to let the Fleet have access to search for the source and put a stop to it. So now it's up to you to prepare yourselves for the unknown, and brave these dark waters for the sake of this world.

But be careful: you aren't alone down there.

This is a catch all-mingle/event log for the Depths event and anything related to it. None of the creatures will be NPCed by mods, so feel free to control them as you'd like.

Glowing toxic seaweed, by the look of everything down here. I'm just not sure why the Dasioe were so worried about people going down here.

[As if to counterpoint that, somewhere behind them, a section of glowing plants goes briefly dark, as if blocked out a massive shadow. Kaidan's eyes flick backwards.]

Did you see that?

I saw it. [He glances around, trying to see if he can work out where it went.] Although I'm not sure what exactly I saw.

[Another shadowy movement, this time beside the shuttle, and Yuan gets a better look at the suggestion of a silhouette against the glowing backdrop.] ...Definitely something pretty big swimming around out there...some kind of eel, maybe? I can't tell how far it is.

[The shuttle can't go much faster but he increases it just a little. His eyes are trained more on the rocks around them so he's relying on Yuan to play lookout]

Define 'big'.

Not sure. Big enough to block out a fair-sized patch of light from the seaweed. If it was close, maybe the size of a velocidragon? If it was farther off, it could be a lot bigger.

[He stares hard into the dark water, trying to catch another glimpse.] ...I don't see it anymore. Maybe it doesn't think we look edible.

[His question cuts off as the shuttle pitches violently downward with the enormous thud of impact underneath. Alarms blare inside the cockpit as he struggles to stablize the ship. Thankfully, the shields shunted most of the damage, but Kaidan is instantly unsure of how many of those the shuttle can withstand.]

[Yuan is clinging to his seat, wincing as much from the alarms as the impact. His voice is tense as he responds:]

It's a riding beast that could probably outrun this shuttle. ...If you need extra hands on something, just tell me what to push. [A Communications augment isn't much good in this situation, but he hates being useless.]
