Who: Shiro and you
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: SS Blameless
When: March 17th and 18th
[Network | Video from the HS Marsiva - Friday 17th]
[Waking up in a strange place is, sadly, something Shiro has done before. A couple of times actually. He must admit, though, he appreciates the lack of a headache this time. The worry is strong when he realizes he lost communication with his team, and there's nobody around to answer his questions. At least that means not bad guys either?
His body feels great (how, after that battle?) so he doesn't waste time investigating. Moments later he's at the cafeteria, eating something that is not goo (thank goodness) and going through the files on his new communicator. The idea of a reality show and that augment implanted in his head isn't well received at all, but there's something more urgent he should check on first. There are no signs of it on the network, but you can never be too safe.
The feed starts as he's taking off his helmet, his sci-fi-ish suit of armor and the calmness he speaks with not making him look a newbie at all. Someone familiar with military training, though, may find a bit of that on him.]
Hello. I'm Shiro, a new arrival to this... fleet. [He's about to say "this show" but ugh, he doesn't want to think about that.] Space isn't news to me, but alternative universes are. So I still feel I must ask: has any of you encountered or heard of an alien race called Galra? They aren't good news, and I wouldn't want them to have followed me here. Thanks for any information you can provide.
[Action | It's shuffle time on the SS Blameless! - Saturday 18th]
[The confetti is met with an unamused face, and Shiro is still brushing it off his armor as he makes his way through the ship, helmet under an arm and eyes attentive. The pudding is tempting (he isn't a huge chocolate lover but gosh, he hasn't tasted it in forever) but it can wait for now. First, he needs to meet his crew. Shiro is still a firm believer of teamwork, so it'll be better for everyone, he thinks, if he gets to know these new people as soon as possible.
He doesn't rush it though. Familiarizing himself with the ship is also important, so he walks through the hallways at a calm pace, taking in all the details and wondering what kind of piloting it'll require. Whenever he sees someone, he speaks up, tone and body language as friendly as it can be.]
Excuse me. Hi. I believe I'm the new pilot of the ship. [He offers his right hand and, if the person decides to take it, they'll notice it feels harder than a human hand. As if it was made of metal.] You can call me Shiro.

[ Her and Hank and Cisco - they were a little group and she was particularly protective of them. Kate, too, and they were all under her wing. She's one of the eldest here, now, hitting her forties despite looking like a teenager for the last twenty years and she knows that she's taking on a responsibility the others might not care for her to have.
All the same, they're her people. She doesn't want them to be hurt, to be sad, to be damaged. Or worse. ]
We work well because we don't mess around with each other. If there's a problem we talk about it. [ She finally shrugs a shoulder. ] I'm not going to tell you what to do but I'll help you if you need it.

[There's conviction in his words, and respect in his eyes when he looks at her. They communicate. They work together. Sounds good, even better to hear it from the first mate. That's how Shiro works, and he thinks he may be fit here just fine if Raven's description is anything to go by. This being a show still bothers him, but for now? He can allow to relax a bit, worry a bit less.]
I'm a firm believer of teamwork, Raven, so count on me for help too. Can I ask about your augment?
no subject
[ The augments help, of course, but it's not the same as someone with experience. Raven loves her crew but she knows some of them have been shoved here without really having any idea of what to do beyond information forced into their brain - but they'll adjust. It'll just be easier for Shiro. ]
Security, but I didn't need the augment.

[Looking for drama, he supposes, if this really works like a reality show. But still... dropping a person to pilot a ship with just a instruction manual on their brains is nuts. At least his team had some Garrison training when they got the lions.]
Security-- and the ship has weapons too, doesn't it? It's something needed here?
[His tone is serious for that question. Do they make these random people fight?]

[ Raven doesn't really appreciate it, but at least she's more prepared than anyone else. It's enough to make her frustrated and she grits her teeth, shaking her head before she turns back to look over at Shiro. ]
It does. We haven't needed to use them much, but there was a raid a few weeks back. They changed their mind quickly.
[ Her scales ripple a little and she tilts her head, smiling. ]

It's not as bad as being in the ring again, but boy is this hitting so many similarities.
His hands tighten around his helmet, and he takes a couple of deep breaths. It would be awful to have a panic attack so soon after arriving. He needs to focus and learn as much as possible about the place to get active.]
Space pirates? [He tries to joke with his usual morbid sense of humor, seeing her smile and trying to go with it.] I'm a fighting-class pilot, and I'm trained for combat too. If it's protecting the crew that you need, you can count on me too. [He attempts a little smile.] Although it doesn't sound like you need it.

Maybe the Blameless will be able to handle anything that comes at them. It's almost a nice thought.
Turning her head back to Shiro she frowns before she steps closer. She's not sure what to do, or what's going on, but there's a buried instinct inside of her that wants to make sure the newcomer is okay; the same instinct that had her being a touch overprotective of the new X-Men before they'd started. ]
Something like that. It didn't matter, we got rid of them. You haven't seen me when I'm angry. [ Or her fiance, the giant blue beast, but that hardly matters. She's sure the two will meet in time. ] It's good to have anyone else around that's capable of standing up for themselves. If you didn't I'd have just had to teach you.

[He uses his best light tone, trying to help with the mood. He wouldn't want to anger her, or something to happen that could anger her either. Hopefully his stay in this place is a quiet one - knowing his life though...
The frown and the stepping closer is noted and appreciated in his own very Shiro-way. What he's seen so far shows him a good first mate, and that's great. But he isn't about to spout his demons on her. And taking into account he way she's talking about protecting the crew and teaching others to do the same, he has the feeling she would understand.]
Teaching - so the ship has a training deck? That's something I could make use of.
[Sooner or later, he'll need to punch something.]

[ Shaking her head, Raven just watches him for a moment, drinking him in. It's good to have someone familiar with piloting around and she's glad for it, but she does wish Hank was here. She wishes that he was here to manage all the 'meeting the new people', even if he would be just as awkward about it. Mostly, she just wishes he was awake, but that's a thought for another day.
Her eyes flick over him, but she shakes her head and focuses again quickly enough. Arms crossed over her chest, she nods her head. ]
The Iskaulit has a gym and a few spare rooms and that's good enough. It's not amazing, but it's enough. We make do with what we've got.

[It's hard to anger Mr Patient here, which means he doesn't mind her looking at him like that at all. It's not like she's being judgamental or giving him a bad eye after all. They're gonna be living together, better start getting used to each other's presence.
He nods at her words - we make do with what we've got is how his life has been for a while now, nothing new there.]
That's enough for me. I'll check the Iskaulit after getting familiar with this ship. From what I understand you don't need a pilot in here 24/7?
no subject
All the same, she nods her head, lips twitching into something akin to a smile. ]
We're managed so far without one just by using autopilot. It makes some things on some planets harder, but we've got you now. It's not a problem if you want to go visit somewhere.
