[Waking up in a strange place is, sadly, something Shiro has done before. A couple of times actually. He must admit, though, he appreciates the lack of a headache this time. The worry is strong when he realizes he lost communication with his team, and there's nobody around to answer his questions. At least that means not bad guys either?

His body feels great (how, after that battle?) so he doesn't waste time investigating. Moments later he's at the cafeteria, eating something that is not goo (thank goodness) and going through the files on his new communicator. The idea of a reality show and that augment implanted in his head isn't well received at all, but there's something more urgent he should check on first. There are no signs of it on the network, but you can never be too safe.

The feed starts as he's taking off his helmet, his sci-fi-ish suit of armor and the calmness he speaks with not making him look a newbie at all. Someone familiar with military training, though, may find a bit of that on him.]

Hello. I'm Shiro, a new arrival to this... fleet. [He's about to say "this show" but ugh, he doesn't want to think about that.] Space isn't news to me, but alternative universes are. So I still feel I must ask: has any of you encountered or heard of an alien race called Galra? They aren't good news, and I wouldn't want them to have followed me here. Thanks for any information you can provide.

[The confetti is met with an unamused face, and Shiro is still brushing it off his armor as he makes his way through the ship, helmet under an arm and eyes attentive. The pudding is tempting (he isn't a huge chocolate lover but gosh, he hasn't tasted it in forever) but it can wait for now. First, he needs to meet his crew. Shiro is still a firm believer of teamwork, so it'll be better for everyone, he thinks, if he gets to know these new people as soon as possible.

He doesn't rush it though. Familiarizing himself with the ship is also important, so he walks through the hallways at a calm pace, taking in all the details and wondering what kind of piloting it'll require. Whenever he sees someone, he speaks up, tone and body language as friendly as it can be.]

Excuse me. Hi. I believe I'm the new pilot of the ship. [He offers his right hand and, if the person decides to take it, they'll notice it feels harder than a human hand. As if it was made of metal.] You can call me Shiro.

Oh pffft, it's fine. He's fine. Right? Yeah. 'Course you are.

It's Shiro. Not sir necessary. [Shiro is squinting so hard at the screen right now. This boy is reminding him of someone.] The yelling doesn't sound fine.

[There's footsteps and Allen finally appears on the screen behind Sokka. He gives his friend an annoyed look before looking politely at the screen]

Nice to meet you, Shiro. I'm Allen, and this is Sokka.

Don't mind him, he's very good at putting his foot in his mouth.

Hello, Allen. [The boy's hair reminds Shiro of Allura, and he pauses, wondering if she's ok after everything that happened. He wishes so hard to call home...

Although... not!Lance bothering a white-haired person sounds about right.]

Don't worry, I can tell. Sorry you were dragged into this. I need to ask though-- you two have been away for so long. There has been no way to contact your worlds?

[That's directed at Allen, looking over at him and pulling a face. There's still a good-natured bickering feel towards it, though. There's no real venom. ]

Not that I've seen. I mean, my world isn't really up with the technology thing all that much anyway. But I've never found a way to get in touch of anywhere from here.

[Yep, they just regularly bicker like an old married couple. And just like that, he focuses on Shiro's question]

No, not really. It's very possible we're in a completely different dimension than our worlds. I mean, I know for a fact people seem to come from many different versions of Earth alone.

...I see.

[Nine years without a word from home. Wow. Shiro frowns, lost in thought here for a second. He doesn't like being in some kind of reality show, but it's his team that he's worried about. Without him, they can't form Voltron. And Keith wasn't ready...]

And the places we visit - we can't choose those either, correct? [A sigh.] I feel like they're trying to script my life.

Noooope, we go wherever the Marsiva goes. We can have pilots, who can manoeuvre the ships, but we can't ever stray far from it.

And that's pretty much what they're doing.

[Yeah...what Sokka said basically, but he gives a sympathetic look to Shiro. It's never easy for the newbie]

Yes, I got the pilot augment, even if I didn't really need it. [That's why he asked. He's so ready to turn whatever ship he gets around...

Allen gets a shake of his head.] Not your fault. But thank you for answering my questions. I'm still trying to make sense of everything.

That's something. We can always use more pilots.

Yeah, that'll take some time. For it all to sink in.

[He nods along with Sokka]

Take your time. We've been awhile, so we can answer any other questions you might have.

[Which is not something Allen offers usually, it's been too many years of answering too many questions. But man, it's hard not to feel bad for the guy when he's right in front of Allen]

You mean actual pilots or pilot augments?

[Why does he get the feeling he'll ask that question a lot in the future? ~~yes please feel bad for him he needs a nap asap~~]

Thank you both. I got the main ideas from the files I found in the communicator, but I'll keep your offer in mind. What ship are you guys in?

Pilot augments. There are some actual pilots in the Fleet, too, but not a whole lot.

I am an actual pilot and got the pilot augment. From the sounds of it, I should consider myself lucky.

[A nod and a gentle smile.] Blue Fish, got it. Thank you guys. I would offer my experience with space, but if you've been here that long, I don't know how much I can add.

Wow, that is actually pretty lucky. I think I've only ever seen that happen like, three times.

[He grins, folding his arms.]

You never know, something might come along that neither of us understands one day, now we know who to hit up if that ever happens.

[He nods]
